Title: why does wierd get past golden circlet?
Post by: jrizz on September 13, 2009, 01:35:47 AM
Under wierd it says:

 "
 "

Golden Circlet says: Immunity to mind affecting spells.

 Can someone help explain this.

I don't know where you got that defenition..but in description of the spell wierd in lore says the only thing that protects you is true sight.

it is in NWN Wiki. But you could be right that Layo changed the spell to make it more powerful.

I would trust LORE sooner then anywhere else, when Layonara is concerned...

The one and only true immunity to Weird is True Seeing.

Yes I checked nwn wiki and you're right it does say that...looks like this is a big difference then in Layo....gota have the sight based on LORE, it's the only protection, aside from spell mantle, spell resistance and high saving throws

Originally Weird has a lot of problems in NWN, ignoring various immunities, including mind-affecting. As of 1.65 the spell code was altered by Bioware to properly respect the various immunities including death and mind immunities.

However since Layonara's spells are mostly altered in at least some way, I'd always turn to LORE first.
