What are some of your holiday movie favorites?
mine....
Polar Express
A Christmas Story
Christmas Vacation
-
Grinch (of course)
A Christmas Story - of course!
Muppet Family Christmas cause I'm a big kid at heart and who doesn't love the scene where the Swedish Chef is looking for a Christmas bird to cook and Big Bird walks into the kitchen? priceless
-
Love Actually
Christmas Vacation
Die Hard
-
Good call on "Die Hard" !
But my favorite Christmas movie of all time is..... **drum roll** .....
"Trapped in Paradise" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111477/)
-
Nightmare Before Christmas was fantastic when it came out... And I had a solid tradition of watching all of the claymation Christmas specials - Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snow Man, Jack Frost, Year Without Santa Claus, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town... Really all of the Rankin/Bass stuff.
-
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Animated Film. Loved the abominable snowman and the miner (reminded me of a ore crazy dwarf).
-
All good choices below but I also liked Miracle on 34th Street:

Merry Christmas to everyone!

The Miner - "Yukon Cornieless" :)
-
Home alone series..yeah, I go for the yuks. :D
-
I like a certain Twilight Zone episode where Art Carney (Ed Norton of Honeymooner fame) is a down on his luck guy who is very generous, and becomes Santa Claus. :)
-
I have to agree with Stephen except for the Nightmare Before Christmas. But what I would put above the list is "It's a Wonderful Life" with James Stewart.
Then I would say Princess Bride. Someone listed Home Alone and that is always good too. And of course The Christmas Story :)
Mr. Parker: He looks like a deranged Easter Bunny.
Mother: He does not!
Mr. Parker: He does too, he looks like a pink nightmare!

Its a wonderful life
Polar express
Christmas carol 1951
Scrooged
-
Gah! Yeah! Scrooged! Got to love Bill Murray.
-
Also, "The Santa Clause" with Tim Allen.. :D
-
This one is not your typical Christmas movie but we enjoy it during this time of year.
Groundhog Day with Bill Murray
-
In Mooneyes vein, "The Sound of Music"
-
Gilshen, how would you know? The sound of Music is a wonderful one too. And the Wizard of Oz. That's why get holiday's off so we can play layo and vez on the couch watching our favorites in pajams with a big cheeseball and crackers *winks*
OH a minor mention? FOOTBALL Oh Yeah Buddy:D
-
Mine:
It's a Wonderful Life.
Betting high on the wife's list:
White Christmas.
My least favorite:
A Christmas Story.
-
That scene in Santa Claus the Movie where all the children are crying because their poorly made toys all broke on Xmas morning still makes me laugh uncontrollably. Reminds me of when Steve Jobs rolls out the new Apple releases a month after everybody *JUST* bought the old one!
-
The best Xmas movie ever? GREMLINS! Reminds me so much of the wargpack!
