Title: Polymorph Question
Post by: Ravemore on May 24, 2011, 01:42:43 PM
I may have missed the answer elsewhere if it has already been asked...

The polymorph spell is limited to a few forms due to NWN mechanics, but my question is whether RP-wise the spell can be used to take on other forms? For example; crows, bats, snakes, etc.??

As a GM, I would not limit the forms during a quest to the few offered by the NWN mechanics, no. The only limits I'd keep in mind are the ability of the caster and the level of the spell, both of which would limit what forms are feasible with that spell.

Very good. That was exactly the answer I was hoping for.

Keep in mind though that only the mechanical forms impart mechanical (i.e. stat, attribute, etc.) changes.  Any RPed form is going to be subject to GM interpretation in terms of capabilities.

And as always, taking a form does not impart the ability to communicate in a manner befitting said form.
