Title: Misplaced Kitty
Post by: Gulnyr on September 10, 2011, 03:28:45 PM
Very recently, a cougar has been spawning just off the road in the middle of the Lake Splendor area.  Can something be done to put it back where it belongs?  It's a little irritating to be bitten just for trying to go north along the road from Center.

Thanks.

The cougars generally spawn off to the side, it may be that someone spawned it and it wandered, or it was pulled there.  Is this something that's happened regularly?

Yes.  I've run into it at the same spot multiple times.

Grovel ran into that too.  I think what happened is that a ranger or druid was attacked by the cougar and tamed it by the road.  Telling it to hold its position, the cougar sat there until somebody else killed it.  Now when the next person came along and killed the cougar by the road, the server set that spot as its respawn position.  It may be sad, but we need to get a druid or ranger to tame the rabid animal, bring it to a far corner and deal with it like old yeller.  Otherwise the respawn point will reset the next server reset.

Well it's been known that in the past the longer the server was up and that there had been lag, some spawns started to wander around when they re-spawned. The snakes in the desert on west is a prime example of that.

No wandering, me and geloooo just killed it on the road corner, we stopped to RP and it re-spawned on the spot.
