A large group of orcs recently raided the small trading outpost of Center in the Brelin Kingdom. Locals have decided to stay inside as much as possible for the time being, and animals are being kept on a tight watch to make sure they aren't taken by the maurading monsters.
-
*Upon hearing the news Lance sends word to Wayfare, and request that a unit of toranites be asigned to travel south to center in order to help to investigate and keep order into the town in case there are more recurrent attacks *
-
As the news reach Port Hempstead, Aden cleans up the alchemists table he had been working on and makes haste to Center.
-
After fighting back another attack, an exhausted elf races to for Wayfare and demands to talk to Captain Tanning. Center is under attack by orcs, Aden says, and needs assistance. He gives a short briefing what Storold, Kate, SehKy and Robb and him found out so far.
-
*Some days after the attack when Aden finally reaches to the fort, the officers look at him oddly as he actually "demands" to see the captain Tunnings, he is instructed to wait for his turn if he wants to deal with the situation with the captain personally. After awaiting for some hours the Captain finally recieves him, upon hearing the notice he frowns a bit and looks over his desk and he ensures Aden that he's going to send people to keep the peace on the town and keep the order *
*On that evening a contingent of 10 Brelinite guards, and 5 Toranite cavalry is seen to ride to the south arriving to Wayfare two days after, they inmediatelly start to work on helping with the local guard to secure the border of the farmlands and to keep the order and look over the entraces and exits , giving a sense of security into the town .... yet outside of it its another diferent thing *
-
"As the force arrives in Center, SehKy leaves a note for Keela and slips out of town to the east for some careful scouting*
-
*G'ork arrives in center, briefly after being confronted by 2 armed persons and an orc, another orc was spotted killing animals, the orc fled and shortly returned with a small raid on the village which was held off with no casaulties besides the animals lost prior, the orcs were identified as being related to Grands forces. Most of the group that helped with the raid remained in the village discussing the matter, a while later G'ork was seen departing south.*
-
Messages are sent to relay the news while those in Center stand guard over the town through another night, staring into the darkness.
-
After another brutal attack on Center, those who had been enjoying a mild evening's conversation come to the defense. The orcs beaten back for only the gods know how long, an number of people swing into action anticipating more attacks.
After helping to stack orc bodies for burning, Andrew Reid and Lana Poetr set some basic sound wards as far up the road as they dare under cover of stealth and invisibility. They set a few across and around the road before retreating. The wards aren't much, just a damage-less jangle of sound when they're stepped on or over, and are susceptible to animals, but might - Muse willing - give the town a few extra seconds to prepare in case another wave of red-eyed orcs come knocking.

*letters are dispatched to Vehl*
Justicar Reus,
Sir, I know we of the Dragon are stretched thin, but the folk of Center are in need of protection. As you may have heard yet another Orcan raid has occurred there and was repulsed, yet I fear the commoners. I am formally requesting a squandron of twenty five Knights be assigned to the village.
Also, after some discussion with a few others, we believe the Orcs seek something in Center itself. Are there any records in the archives of Orcan villages in the area where center is presently?
Yours in the Gold,
Daniel Poetr, Knight Captain of the Wyrm.

*next day*
Daniel seeks out the Mayor of Center. "Sir, I believe the time has come for you to form a militia and erect a barricade, the state of Center's defenses is..nonexistent. What I propose sir, is that some manner of defenses be made, even if it is simply checkpoints at the roads for now."
-
After the orc siege and the army of tusked Grand followers chased away, Andrew returns to Center to start digging up information on the origins of the trading post and the land it sits on.
-
It seems that for the time being the orc hordes have been defeated, and life goes on as usual once more, though with the stench of rotting and burning orc carcasses still in the air.
-
Naldin sets about finding details of the slain dwarves, including searching for any dwarven clans in the Center vicinity.
-
orc Bashers Assemble!!!!
-
*Jetta follows Andrew around for a while, hoping his research into the ruins and under-city of Center might lead to a treasure trove of some value.*
-
Gel'larian offers to accompany Naldin, hoping to get help from any dwarven clans they contact sealing off the caves permanently.
-
*Myrddyn takes a moment to thank each of the guards that were sent to Center. The ones who ask he tells the basics of what they did at the cave*

People look at Daniel oddly and explain that Center isn't even really even considered a real town, and certainly doesn't have anything like a Mayor since most of the people that come through are transient traders, but they tell him to feel free to try to get people to secure the roads if he wants to.

Daniel blushes at his mistake muttering something to the effect that is it improper for Center to lack any sort of civil leadership. Offering his apologies and thanks to those that helped him he makes his way the Bullseye Inn and makes some inquiries of the Innkeeper there on who precisely would constitute citizens of the trading village. Once this crude census is finished, he tries to persuade the merchants that hiring a guard or three for common defense would be in thier own best interests for the time being.
With crude census in hand, Daniel makes his way to Vehl to research the requirements of establishing a proper village under Brelian law.

*After the events of the defense , Aesthir can be seen openly on the town, his face uncovered and his gestures proud, he helps with the reconstruction showing openly the Rofirenite colors and banners as he did during the defense, his usual mood harsh but fair is seen again as he spends the time helping the remainer "soldier" with the reconstruction, taking a natural role as leader and facilitator, inspiring the word of How Rofirein the Lord Protector will answer if have faith.
He spends several days at Center helping with this regard, and preaching for the hope of the town , he will often use Naldin as reference of valor and organization, praising him for what he is and what a Knight of the Wyrm should be. an able and smart defender and a stalwart of the virtues that such knights should display.*

The innkeeper, a man in no clear hurry to answer Daniel's question, gives the matter some thought. His answer starts as a list, that includes himself, the bartender and their respective mates/spouses. A rambling consideration follows as he lists off some names and either discounts them or seems to include them in the count.
Eventually, he comes up with an answer: "Seven. Aye, seven's what we got here all th' time...give 'r take."
With crude census in hand, Daniel makes his way to Vehl to research the requirements of establishing a proper village under Brelian law.
After weeks of journey to Fort Vehl, Daniel's research is met with some confusion, though he does get a respectful answer from a helpful archivist.
"Sir, I believe we can find this out for you, though I wonder if you might have better luck asking in Brelin...Port Hempstead, perhaps. It is there, afterall...Brelin I mean...that such a matter must be adjudicated."
// as a general note to everyone, keep in mind that Center is still little more than an outpost with a population that is mostly transient in nature. Most of the "structures" there are tents, shanties and caravan wagons, with very few permanent buildings. Only a few of Center's population would actually consider it their home at the present time. There are some "seasonal" residents, mostly traders who take advantage of Center's placement and commercial traffic for months at a time. There are also some "regular" visitors who pause in Center for a few days at a time on their way through along the trade routes.
-
Daniel thanks the archivist profusely. "Any further information can be sent to the Angels Guild in Hempstead then, my good man." With that Daniel boards one of the many ships from Vehl to Hempstead. During the voyage he wracks his brain trying to figure out how to get the authorities in Hempstead to grant Center some manner of permenant protection and guard. Upon landing he is heard to be muttering about a trade charter as he makes his way to the Council building and requests when an audience with the council may be made.
