**One rainy nigth, the Buckle seems to be on its usual mood, the patrons enjoying the escape of their pains by taking ale and spirits as it lasts, with the famine to have a drink its becoming slowly a more rare delight.*
*There is some concern as all of sudden some crystals got broken in the central area of the inn, the music stops for a moment and the patron looks around as the strange event just happened without explanation *
*As Michael calls for Jetta to move to position ( if she is not around there already ), the center of the hall start to clear itslef of patrons , leaving a grinning elven girl sitting looking up at them all with a surprising and perhaps a bit ashamed expression*
-
*While the crowd seems to part around the Elvin lass, Jetta instead moves in toward her, and where the sound of breaking crystal came from. Her keen eyes survey the scene, taking in every detail. When Michael begins to call for her, he sees she's already there and well on top of the situation, rather than elsewhere in the inn on one of her frequent security sweeps. In a friendly and courteous business voice she looks to the Elven lass and speaks,*
"Well hello there. What seems to be the trouble here, miss?"
-
*She looks up to Jetta as she appears*
A combination of sounds that should not have been combined milady.. er.. Its there Master Andrew around?
-
*purses her lips on the verge of a frown*
"Perhaps. Who would I tell him is looking for him?"
-
*She answers in a quick and gentle voice*
You should not frown miss, it may scare people, your hair is long and preety, if you smile more you may look preetier.
I am so thankful for asking then, please tell him that Amaria is looking for him.
*Then looks upon Jetta again with an expecting look*
-
*For a moment Jetta continues to regard the woman coolly, then she grins a most shark-like grin with a bit of a twinkle in her eye, gesturing the Elven lass to stand and follow.*
"Come with me, Amaria."
*She leads Amaria to the meeting room near the front entrance to the inn and directs her inside while she asks,*
"Have a seat, and please tell me how it is you know Andrew?"
-
*She sits on the couch * I met him quite well. I was here when that woman came with his son and all the fiasco you know? .. you his wife now?
**she tilt her head trying to make sure what to do of Jetta*
-
//OOC - For clarification, the Meeting Room to which Jetta has lead Amaria is the room with the long table and all the chairs next to Andrew's office, not the lounge area with the couches near the fireplace.
*smiles in her predatory way at Amaria.*
"Oh, no. I'm certainly not his wife. I'm the chief of security here at the Silverbuckle. It's my job to ask questions."
*After seeing Amaria to be seated in one of the chairs in the meeting room, Jetta moves bak to the doorway.*
"Now, just wait here while I track him down and tell him you're here to see him."
*With that, she closes the door behind herself on her way out of the meeting room and motions for her three personal minions to come over.*
"Alright, there's an Elven lass in there waiting to see Andrew. See that she doesn't leave that room until he or I return, and don't let anyone else in there either."
*After instructing Arthur, Winston, and Greg to guard Amaria she heads off in search of her employer. The first stop in her search is Andrew's office, and she knocks before poking her head in to see if he's there.*
-
He is not in his office, but a faint whiff of cigar smoke and sandalwood can be followed to the clinic where singing can be heard.
-
*Jetta follows the odor of cigar smoke to the clinic, stepping in and looking around for Andrew.*
-
Singing to a patient, a sailor whose chosen side in an argument didn't meet with his debate partner's approval, Andrew pauses his tale of pirate woe and nods as Jetta pokes her head in. "Is everything alright out there? I thought I heard a crash. If they're hassling Heloise again, please kick them out if you would."
-
"You know Elohanna will have your head for smoking in the clinic, Boss. Anyway, there's an Elven lass calling herself Amaria here asking for you. I left her guarded by Greg, Winston, and Arthur in the Meeting Room. You know her?"
*watches Andrew's expression as she delivers her news*
-
"...Amaria?" He stands immediately. "Yes, I do...I'm sorry to cut this short, friend. My wife or Kat will be back to check on you shortly." He pats the patient's shoulder - the unbruised shoulder - and heads out to the main tavern floor using all the stride in his long legs to get him to the Meeting Room next to his office. He opens the doors, nodding to Jetta's minions, sits across from the elven girl, and reaches to take her hand in greeting.
-
*Being curious, Jetta follows Andrew matching his stride and slips into the Meeting Room as well. She chooses to stand to one side of the door, closing it behind herself after thanking Greg, Arthur and Winston and handing them each coin for another round of drinks. She then turns her attnetion to Andrew and Amaria, watching and listening with a nuetral expression.*
-
she lets out a soft patient sigh as she steps into the clinic to tend to the wounded guest and smells the scent of the cigar, making note to have a talk with Andrew, if Father Xander doesn't beat her to it.
She then moves to the wounded man and begins to assess the severity of his wounds in a professional, patient and empathetic way.
-
*The girl seems to be a bit older, amd dressed with better clothes and even discrete dark make up, it seems a bit darker though to accentuate her eyes and giving her a mysterious and exotic look, she doesn't seem the same unsecure girl you met some time ago,
- Mister Andrew *she speaks softly*
I heard that you were married some years ago, I was a bit busy on the far islands of Kranshin by the time. . but i am glad that you are doing well ? *she smiles , a sad smile that seems that she has been now well developed *
-
"I am doing as well as I can, as always." The smile is returned, then it brightens. "I am married - you remember Elohanna I'm sure? We've been wed for some time.
"It's good to see you, I had checked with the Resonance on you from time to time but lost touch. Krashin you say? Tell me what's happened since last I saw you, Milady."
-
What is a life but what happens to us as we do other plans *grins*
I've been around traveling and knowing things, my ability to play has returned but it seems that i have a natural talent to break things by now. *She smiles* Lets just say that i am glad that life has treated you kindlier than the last time i saw you? I do hope that no more jail time for you then? And faced our fears we learned to do no?
One can be happy once one faces their fears , but those change you , you know? *Said with almost resigned tone on this , but then she smiles again at him* And yes i do remember your now wife. I see that the clinic is prospering too, even if i find odd that a clinic its on a bar too. but guess extraordinaire people do extaordinaire things .
-
"Life is what happens when we plan other things...you know, that is as succinct a summary as ever I have heard." He looks delighted for a moment, then sobers. "Ah, I have no plans to be in jail any time soon. However, plans, as you just said..." A shrug. "I can't say life is treating me better but I can say I'm able to react to it better, which is a blessing I thank Ilsare for every day. And you'd be surprised how handy it is to have a clinic in a bar. I think the ship's captains are glad enough we can patch their sailors together after a bar fight and send them back to sea whole." A moment's pause. "It's good to hear your voice is back. I hope you'll share it with us if you plan to stay a bit. I am curious though, what do you mean 'a natural talent for breaking things'?"
-
*She smiles at that*
What that means only,, things tend to break when i am around. . Its not something you can explain, pretty much as your Heartsong, you can't explain it you either feel it or don't .. its not either like tilting your head and listening to the air or something its something you see and understand.
And i kinda think its the same but not at the same time, its something that happens , but i am able to see the sound needed for something to happen. but .. well instead of that they break .. if that make sense.
-
Tips his head. "I wonder if perhaps you are developing the powers of a skald? Could it be that? I've seen some amazing breakage come from the voices of those who've learned to use sound that way."
-
*comments as well, not quite remaining the quiet fly on the wall, as it were.*
"I've seen men's ears bleed and lines of warriors flee in terror at the sound of a skald's voice."
*her eyes flick back and forth between the other two for a moment, and again she leans back against the wall into silence.*
-
I'd rather define myself as myself still *grins* If having a tag is needed well. guess it would be needed to someone else, but I've learned from the people of krashin, their drumwork its awesome must say,
But i can show you if you can.. that if the reality doesn't fail me now *smiles*
Come.. play something. . *grins*
-
"To the stage then - after you, Milady. So you're drumming now?" Opening the door for both her and Jetta, he whispers to his security head as she passes. "Make sure any audience is in the second row of tables by the stage please, Jetta...just in case."
-
*shakes her head* No, no stage.. I want to see how things work here. I would not risk it yet. Now i only perform in open spaces, at least for the time being .. To do so in a closed space i feel limit the beauty of the sound sparces. Practicing and showing in other hand seems alright. so just play something, anything.
-
A nod and he sings up light and then pinches the flame off each candle in the two candelabras, again - just in case. Holding up a finger, he heads out to his office next door and picks Bella up off the stack of scores she was resting on.
Returning, he puts the bow to her strings and pauses a moment to think. What music for this confident, more world-weary lady - still desperately young for her race and growing so very fast?
The words trickle back and his fingers move on the neck of his violin, a melody he's never played for a song sung only once. But yes - that.
"Gold and silver? A door or a key?
She’s not here by accident, listen to me
The flowers are blooming, the entry awaits
She wishes and wants to see past the gates..."
-
*The young elven lass closes her eyes for a moment , with her harp already on her hands, as the sound of the music invades the room, she seems focused listening, then she opens her eyes abruptly, a single note is played by her harp, a sharp C, that echoes and mixes on the very moment that andrew plays a G and D, making the chord complete, then...
.... a small tremor can be heard on the room, vibrating the glasses on the screen and the holders for the candles , they all crash immediately making a single sound, you can almost .. almost think that the crash was done to mimic the very chord that the two musics were done. the tremor continues, then the crack of some wooden walls are heard, finally the wall where Jetta and the other men are listening cracks open, leaving them in full view of the room making the moment a bit awkward now that the cracks have made a hole in that very wall, ( and they are now seen from inside the room ).
*The small girl blushes deeply* Sorry .. *says in in very low voice *
-
"Muse..." He looks to her first to see if she's suffered any hurt at all before getting up and carefully inspecting the damage, centering it out from her voice, and humming the notes back to himself.
-
After a long breath, he walks over and puts a hand on Amaria's shoulder. "The damage can be fixed, don't worry about that. I'm thinking that perhaps we should be seeking someone who can help you train that terrible, marvelous, amazing talent you now have however."
-
"Holes in the walls do not make keeping the Buckle secure easier, Boss. Take it outside next time, eh?"
*grumbles, and then when her back is turned, smirks*
-
Staring at the damage to the wall and the curious faces peeking in, then patting himself over, the bard lifts his hand from the elven lady's shoulder and instead offers it to help her from her seat. "Amaria, if you would indulge me, let's move outside to a quiet part of the Inn grounds so I can listen to you sing again - on further thought, skald talents tend to hurt people, and what you're doing involves structural damage..." Another look at the parted boards. "Muse, Buddy's going to kill me. But there is no tissue damage, we're all fine. I'd like to listen deeper in the Heartsong while you sing."
A pause, then a dimpled grin. "There is an old shed in the back that we were storing used barrels in, it's mostly empty now. It can be sacrificed in the name of research and understanding I think."
-
"Boss, you still need me to watch over the two of you out at the shed too, or should I begin delegating staff to get these holes patched?"
*Jetta asks as if this is the sort of thing that happens every day at the Silverbuckle.*
*muttered as an afterthought to herself*
"Gods, I'm becomming Chief of Maintenance too now."
-
"Please, Jetta. I'll send a letter to our local builders later this afternoon."
-
*The elven girl looks at him and stands but whispers* I'd rather not do so.. I came to see you and talk not to perform . Could we just go so somewhere quiet to talk , i've made enough rockus on your inn already
*she smiles as she finishes speaking*
-
"As the lady wishes, of course." A nod to Jetta and he leads Amaria out and to his office only a few steps away but far more comfortable, closing the double doors behind him. Indicating the comfortable red velvet chair with foot cushions for her, he flips his desk chair around and sits facing the young elf, arms resting on the chair's back. "What's on your mind?"
-
Well. just needed a good sight to stay. As i said i've been traveling over Kranshin on the last years, I am heading towards Bydell myself soon, just wanted to stop and see if the place was still standing, have heard of lots of things happening on this southern lands i wanted to see on my own ..
-
"Still standing, yes - some days I wonder for how long, but so far, bless Ilsare, we're here and I'm happy to provide you with a place to stay for a while, if you don't mind sharing with Clarisse again?
"Amaria, perhaps it's not my place, but you feel a touch sadder then last I saw you." Resting his chin on one hand, he focuses on his former elven charge.
-
*She looks up at him and asks* So? *as if that really makes no importance
*she smiles sadly at him, awaiting for his answer *
-
"So...if you want someone to listen, and not offer up any advice or try to fix things - just listen and then keep their mouths shut - I'm here."
-
*She grins at him* I am sure you are indeed, and I'll come to you with histories as soon as I can decipher them myself , you know you were the one who said about facing our demons isn't it? And there are as you said as well, some trips that should be done alone. Since it was one alone who gets into that?
Who knows one may learn something at the end of the trip.
Yet in something you are right . I've seen a lot of things that had made me lose the happy sight i had on things. Kranshin is not only cold and cruel in weather, but in way more other things as well.
I never thanked you for the introduction you did to me to Mr Whenissy, I must say that the time i spend with them was indeed quite .... intresting.
-
"He's been a help to me when I've needed it. He seems to understand what one needs rather than wants, and that's comforting, I think." He takes a moment to look at her, really look at her - after putting on his spectacles of course - and rests his hands, folded, on the table. "Bydell, you say." Softly. "Old doors to open." An absent rub of his left shoulder. "Some things should be done alone, certainly. I think that you go with your gut on what those are...but you were not alone that day years ago when we met. I was with you, right next to you, singing.
"You don't have to be alone now, if you don't wish to - I will go with you."
-
And do you feel you should be?
Back in the day when you spoke of this very same words to me, about facing our demons. . and i am sure that you have your own demons as well after that, would you take someone you care to see those demons? .. Would you take them there when there is just danger for them there? Would you take someone you care for , to get something but healing to yourself?
I know that he can see enough thru people to speak and focus on what one needs rather than what one wants, Why i end disappearing of Alindor and Mistone and traveled to Krashin, I wanted to be alone, *Smiles* To be honest that could have been the first test, to see if I deserved to live, to see if i was strong enough to overcome the grief, to find who was I
*the sad smile returns at her face , and yet now seems to be a fully honest expression, opening to him in that way *
I don't think you would take someone you care for to a place where danger relies, just for the selfish desire to be healed of an old wound do you?
*she tilt her head and turns to see him *
-
A thoughtful humming as he moves one finger across the table, tracing the notes he hears himself making. He watches her face, absorbing her openness. It is a half a minute before he says anything. "I would not take someone into danger unless they had tools to survive it, and without their knowing the possibilities and they having every opportunity to refuse. That said, I've learned that it's not wrong to ask for help - even when it's dangerous, especially when it's dangerous." He speaks slowly, in some ways as if the words were new to his ears. "Do I feel I should go with you? In the most selfish way, yes, because you seem to be a catalyst for my understanding of the Heartsong and because I see a young woman whom I care about and don't wish harm upon. But it's more than that. Yes, oh yes, I have some demons, Amaria. I would not wish them on you or anyone. Yet when it came down to it, I believe it was that I was not alone that kept me - kept both of us - alive."
-
*She smiles a bit more on that* I don't think I am such thing., Not a catalyst if any, for you to wanting to come you are indeed a good friend, yet there are roads on the path that one needs to walk alone, I am not thinking you less for offering, and yet this is something i know i must do on my own, *She smiles a bit*
I just wanted to come to see how the inn was doing before heading that way. It was not to come and bother, but as you said to see someone i care for.
And to blow one of your candles too *grins sheepeshly* and a wall ... *blushes a bit*
