I seem to remember this discussion a couple years ago. I also seem to remember playing a couple years ago...
The only true success I've ever seen in Layo is through group play- a reliance on all specialties. Against any given opponent, a particular class may solo better. I think it's the character that adds so much.

When will it stop? The good people leaving/banned/etc?!?! I haven't even quested with you, but just from the delightful mischief in some of your posts, I mark you as a top shelf RP-er. I agree there are some inconsistencies with drow and giants and orcs running all over town (one thing I have to give WoW (probably the only thing)), but why not leave it at that...an inconsistency and move on to enjoying the others in the game?
Too much to ask?

Eh, seems a bit overboard wih he penalties to me, but I am not the one who makes those decisions. Good on ye for playng the game and posting the apology. None needed as far as I'm concerned, ye gained nothing for it. I don't much care about dirty laundry. Integrity cannot be taken, it must be given away.
But I think we all know that the GM team is top shelf, and they will call to account all they spy...

A couple of life experience points for you to ponder and experiment on... 1) Nothing worthwhile is easy. Nothing you're going to be proud of yourself for is easy. Easy is for...well... can't use a word or somebody will chose to be offended. ("Sissies" came to mind, but somebody will probably not like that)  2) The mind gives up LONG before the body gives out. 3) True wisdom almost always comes through pain. 4) Things almost always turn out to be not as hard as you thought it was going to be. Head up....back straight....

Well, L has settled the matter. And I like it.
Listen, I will accompany the body politic, whatever the decision was, because no little word here or there is really going to make a difference to me enjoying the game.
But here are somethings perhaps to consider?
Racisim/hostile work environment/harassment law is identified as, "comments, actions, or things that a REASONABLE AND PRUDENT person would find offensive..."
Calling a dark elf, "darkie" in a computer game. Hmmm. Well, the question has been brought up.
What if it's used by another dark elf character? What if the user is actually black? Does it change the parameters? We have situations of possibly offending someone off the chart.
We rapidly degenerate into banning sharp weapons because they're offensive to some, and the F/LDCLU (Fantasy/Layonara Dwarven Cilvil Liberty Union) and EADL (Elven Anti-defamation League) begin to stand up.
Tension has a roleplay with the way races are constructed.
