This morning while headed to Port Hampshire for a meeting with Quin in the tavern
there, I met a Halfling by the name of Bandikoot Baittoes after we had fought off
some Deadheads that had followed me into Ft. Hope.

We waited together sharing drinks and stories, Celgar Magnus even came in and challenged me to a 'warm gin' drinking contest some time. before leaving he gave
me some type of fancy smoke to try which he called a 'Rum Dipper'.

Though I found it a bit too harsh for my  tastes I decided to hang on to it.

Mighty never showed and since it was not like him to stand people up I grew in concern. We made our way to Ft.Velensk were I recalled he had mentioned having some bow sales today. We found him there, then his contact Mr. Cassius arrived.

While those two talked shop a Halfling woman named Shiani Maera walked up.

After I introduced her to 'Beeb' and the two of them seemed to click together nicely.

As the five of us made for the Berhagen Mountains we were joined by the Elf Gorfind Je'rein for some intense encounters with the local Giants there.

There were some CLOSE calls; an invisible Dire tiger injured poor Beeb pretty badly
and we had to help him to recover a Spirit Marker. Then I was nearly taken out in a mountain canyon ambush. In the end though, even after the Elf disappeared on us,
we all had a safe trip, and made two new friends and 850 gold for my pain.

Naga Saillune sat herself at the foot of the statue outside the Ft. Llast Toranite temple
as the seven other members of her party consulted over the matter of the 'Twin Swords' within, she decided to write in her journel.

'It was always strange returning to this place.'

If she recalled correctly, the first time that she had set foot in there, it too had
been over a sword that had been stolen by some Shifter. She, along with a rag
tag group had joined up with Matilda to recover it. (softly Naga sighs )

'Things change so quickly?'

When she had first met Matilda Landsend, the woman had seemed a shy, and stuttering shadow dweller who aided her in getting a vile of Essence from within the crypt at Hlint.

However, the last time she recalled having seen her, Matilda had been well out of those shadows, and on her way to becoming a true Heroine of the Mistone realms. Naga slowly shuts the tome covers and places it aside.

'Maybe if she had stayed in the shadows, she would be alive today?'

While she ponders this thought, it appears briefly within the corner of her eye!

A woman like form in black and red, perched within the bare branches of the nearby
leafless tree that sways carelessly in the noon wind.

The sound of the others emerging from the temple breaks the moment.

Naga blinks at the now empty tree before her.

'Yes indeed, always strange?'

Headed into Hlint, no work today it seemed.

Saved Mr. Leuse from some Orcs. While passing through the Goblin wastes I met Mr. Night who had been mining, and we chatted on the quiet state of Hlint since these cursed Drow attacks began. He said that it had been ages since the last attack?

When I reached the Toranite temple in Ft. Llast I was joined by  Mr. Tathnolu or Albert, then Valianne Haltersen, Amalric Gneiss, Kobal Bluntaxe, Synal'dur Hano'del, and Mr. Na~Hani.

We were once again hired to seek out the 'Twin Swords'. As usual due to my personal feelings toward the harshness of the deity Toran; I awaited the others outside the temple while they entered to discus the cursed keys, locks and and their possible use. Mr.Ender Sai having arrived late, rushed past me to enter.

(it is only to honor the memory of my Toranite friends Matilda Landsend,
and Michaelis Draego that I continue to take work for the Ft.Llast temple)

We headed to Karthy to locate and study some tome on the history of the those blades? As we headed out toward Lielon, it became apparent that Ender did not like the idea of Syn' holding both the keys, and despite the curse took it upon himself to carry one.

Reaching the woods of Karthy, I was badly injured by a powerful fire based  attack by
a rival party of  Mercs.

(so powerful was it, that only my Sea Elf heritage prevented death)

Mr. Bluntaxe carried me to the nearby Xeenite temple, and even paid a hefty price to have me healed by it's less then compassionate resident Healer.

(a most un-Claric like behavior)

That unpleasant experience behind, we met with a Pawn broker who had  possession of the tome we sought.  A phony town guardsman and an assassin attempted to ambush Syn' and Kobal after they had gone to the bank to obtain needed funds.

Their moods soured, the woman soon surrendered the Corathian tome. It tells of two great Human champions locked in a days long battle near the village of Bloody Gate, using what we assumed to have been the 'Twin Swords'. The oddest thing to me was the mention of there having formed a partnership involving a follower of Corath.

We were lead by Kobal to Bloody Gate and he and our leader Syn' spoke with a pair of Ulgrid Dwarves in the hope of learnng more leads on this 'legendary' battle. It had been hoped that since Dwarves were long lived, (despite their often violent lifestyles) someone may know more accurate details. Seems we may have to convince a Coranite to aid during the next leg of our quest for answers. *sigh*

Seems that these eye shaped keys both Syn' and Ender hold were but small pieces
of a much larger puzzle?  I just now have realized, Valianna never DID buy me the promised TREAT at the inn?!

Having recalled advice given me by Lady Woodmaiden last year, I had started my plan to soften my image. For months I have been  secretly sewing a new dress gown for myself, and this evening I went to the craft house loom to finish working on it .

Once it was completed I put it on and made to leave, only I spotted Magnus and Ms.Hommel speaking with Conner Garvill behind the mill outside. Self conscious I ran quickly by them and made for the town center.  I caught sight of Mr. Night and decided on a test to discover he was talking to a blonde woman, before I could seek away dignity intact, Quin can up saying;

'Hey Naga, new dress?!' In shock with embarrassment, I ran all the way home. Now that this day is over I'm going to bed ... for a WEEK!

Today, shortly after getting out of bed I found Quin and Mirren talking in their room.

After having grabed some food from the kitchen, I went back to see them.

Quin mentioned that they had a big meeting in Dregar this evening about the Drow
situation.

I told them that I would go with them, and for this reason thought it best they know why thus far, I have tried avoid being  involved with the conflict directly. I had begun to explain to them when Mirr's supposedly,  'assigned' Drow assassin appeared silently behind me.

He announced the arrival of some Drow of status would soon occur.

Then just as suddenly, a  pale colored Drow Master Rogue strode into the room and began to make insults and threats.

(throwing his half eaten dead skunk into the bath)

I pulled my blade going for a defensive stance. But my friends however, insisted
I put it away, as I would 'Be Gutted'.

It was good, and bad that they said such a thing, for unless attacked. I will not make the first move of attack.  I felt a bit ashamed, for if I waited, and acted to slowly a friend might die? After our two unwelcome visitors had left, Quin and I checked the house chambers to insure  our 'visitors' had in fact gone.

In the kitchen I went on to continue my  with my interrupted explanation;

"One day following a rapier dueling lesson, I had discovered a breech in the court yard
wall  hidden behind a bush. I crept  out into the village streets.  While looking around a
dark skinned boy fell from the shadows of an ally. He was battered, and half starved.

I had not known at the time that he had been a Dark Elf. For weeks I continued to sneak out, bringing him food and cloths, and reading tomes. Though I could understand none of  what the boy said to me he became more trusting each day."

Quin became enraged and I defensive before I could finish. I asked him how this war would later effect our Dark Elven friends such as Marianna, and Mr. Tathnolu? Had they not forsaken every thing? Had they not also through trials and pains earned the same rights to life as we?

Yet already the pressure was forcing them into hiding as fear turned to prejudice?

Quin in a aura of hate and rage kept shouting saying 'Maybe they should leave?!' I could  but weep as a knock sounded at the door.

Mirren returned softly to the kitchen, gently she encouraged me to finish my story, so I continued....

"Then one day as I was leaving the hovel were he lived, a pair of thugs seized me hoping to extort riches from my Father. My new friend hearing my cry had raced from the shadows and chased of the villains. The next week as I made to visit I came upon a gathered crowd.

I pushed my way through only to watch as my friend tied between two horses was torn screaming, violently murdered before my eyes by a hate filled mob. I had sworn then and there, I would never become as they had, and would always seek to understand both sides of conflict."

Mirr' tried to calm me, but casting an invisability spell I ran from the house.

I arrived at Port Hampshire a while later. Needing to think I went to the Weave hall  were I make this entry.

I find it hard to believe a night as beautiful as this is so terrible for a great many of this realms peoples.

Later having left the Hall I came upon Quin seated on the docks. I tried asking what brought him to Port Hampshire. When he seemed curt with me, and not interested in apologizing I left him there. I found the house dark when I arrived home.

Gathering some fruit from the kitchen and a few scrolls I went to my bed chamber
and locked the door. I was too upset to study, RoXi' poor thing backed of into the
corner after trying to cheer me.

10:12 pm

I must have fallen asleep at my desk as a knock came on the door. Quin wished to talk, and would not take no for an answer. Hesitantly I let him in. We sat upon my bed, and he apologized, before going on about the out come of the meeting in Dregar.

I do not know how, but I must have blacked out and fallen. I lay upon the carpet
with a lump on my head? Quin, all red and flustered accused me of well... I don't
know really? He was up set further when I asked if he had pushed me from the bed?

Once our wits were about us, he continued to tell me about the results of the meeting
he had attended with Mirren. It would seem that Master Llewellyn, once again would be most likely to hold the keys in solving the Soul Venom crisis.

(big surprise there)

Quin decided on a night cap. (after accusing me of taking all the alcohol) I told him that I had not, he then considered that perhaps it had beed packed by Mirren for some trip they were to take. We moved into the study  were he recounted the night of the first attack upon them.

He described (in detail) how Mirren had been attacked, and how he had to remove the arrows and nurse her back from the brink of death. When he had finished, I told him the parts of my own story that he had not stayed for.

I told him that he was blinded by his rage, and that in rage avoidable mistakes are often made. He promised to try and be more careful in future. With that I said good night and after writing this entry will go to bed.

While on my daily job hunt in Hlint this morning, I Met Ranger EnZo Reynolt
who sold me a finely crafted, and enhanced Archer's belt.

I headed down into the town Crypts afterwards to bash in some Deadheads.

(been very frustrated of late?)

Upon emerging, a guy introduced himself as Linus Webber, then said he HAD to give
'such a PRETTY woman (meaning ME) a gift. I was weary,  but all he asked in return
was that I remember his name. Easy enough with this journel of mine.

As I turned to re enter the Crypts another guy called out to me, having seen me
casting a spell. He introduced himself as Leuse, and together we entered to find
him the Essence.

Afterwards we went to the Wild Surge inn for drinks.

 (I bought)

As we talked he asked if I always helped strangers, or was there another reason?

(blonde Pretty boy)

He kept on smiling AT me as I told him, 'if we don't help a person in need, we can
not expect help in return.' I also warned him never to bank on friendships as I have
found it will often disappoint in Hlint.

While our talk continued, (RoXi' fusing with his hair.) he showed me a cow collar.

I told him of the Gryphons in Fort Himlad stealing cattle, and he asked that I help
him get there. I agreed.

While he was shopping for supplies Ellendil, Tera Patrick, and Varka Cleavson,
happened along saying that they to had work there, so all agreed on joining
Mr.Leuse and I.

We made or way to Port Hampshire, but I had bank trouble so, Ellendil in charge
the party shipped out to Point Harbor with out me. I rejoined them awhile later at Wolfwood Forest, and we went on to battle a few Giants before returning to Hampshire.

Leuse caught up with me at Ft. Hope, I asked as he had been appointed 'Looter'
if the gold had been separated with out problem. He turned pale saying he had forgotten.

He was set to return and find the others but when asked if he knew were they were,
he had no idea.

Laughing I asked if anyone had requested a cut, again he said 'No'.

So I told him since I had been hired to take HIM to Himlad, and the others had tagged
along, not seeming to care about the loot, that he and I should divide it between us.

Took some work, but I made 1000 for my troubles.

Sure it was wrong, but they didn't wait for me. Ignored instruction .....

so I do NOT regret it....  * added later *  much.

Early this morning I met up with Janu just outside the bank in Hlint.

She introduced me to Ellendil Ar-Calmacil and Yashilla Menneseph and the four of
us went bashing bugs in the 'High Forest'. Once having returned to Hlint, Tharloss Rollerwood II came out of the bank and while RoXi' checked his sadly empty pockets,
I introduced him to the others.

When they had gone, I took him to the Moors to recover his Spirit Marker.

We hit the Elven thieves, and Orcs on the return journey, for a work out.

Returning to Hlint we once again ran into Janu, and a friend of his one Brant Mori Asphyx.

As Tharlos needed brown bear pelts for Mr. Johan .Janu led the three of us to hunt them, we found three of the beasts soon enough and said our good byes.

Funny thing is,  I met up with them again not an hour later at Lake Peldon. It seemed Mr. Asphyx had taken the job of recovering the necklace lost in the caves of Seilwood forest.

We went on to fight our way through the Giant, Dire, and Phase Spiders towards
the Seilwood Cave, some Aranea even appeared, followed by a Beholder but proved
no match for us.

Once inside many Kobals, and the Bugbears they share the caverns with appeared. With them dispatched quickly, only the GROSS Gelatinous Cube stood in our way.
Janu delt a finishing blow and retrieved the Bard's necklace for Mr. Asphyx.

That done, I made for home in need of rest.

I had not been home for more then five minutes when Quin entered, covered with a Barkskin spell and seeming a bit worked up as he searched through the many chests
he and Mirr' share within the house. Now after a busy morning I say it's a good time
to get some needed rest.

A short while later, Quin asked if I'd join him on a mining run for Quartz, and Alexandrite in the Barbarian Island.

 (YAY & yay ?)

Things as it  turned out, quicky grew NASTY, for during a heated encounter with a large party of Gnolls it was WE ourselves who were taken down. After having retrieved our Spirit Markers, we took on a few parties of Kobolds belonging to the 'Long Night' clan.

Making for the Ice Caverns below ground two things became most apparent.  One my new robe turned out to be next to useless in battle. Two being one quarter sea elf
has it's own brand of draw backs, I've  been home an hour now, and I still have chills.

:o Decilar 28, 1379 7::30 PM;

First morning after moving in to 145 Krandor with Quin and Mirr'  I found a note on the desk from Quin asking that I check on Mirren before leaving the house. The bed being empty I set out for Hlint in search of work. Despite it being a period of war the town was peaceful and following some hunting at lake Alon I encountered an Elven woman in need of help dealing with the Gobbies in the 'Red Light' caves. In the end the job paid little so I stopped by the house.

I found another note; (how I miss my mind Sifft)  reading 'Mirren and I are joining Derrick Loadson to deal with Ogre trouble in Haven mines, join us if you can.

Ps. The gold is yours should you come - Q.

Not needing any more urging I set out right away for Haven. As I started this entry Mirr' snuck up on me again. (why is it I can see her when I know she's there?)  Quin was late, and out of breath when he arrived. Then Mr.Loadson arrived.

(everyone says he's nice enough, but he makes me nervous?)

Before reaching the cave we were joined by Tharloss Rollerwood II, Dashiva Elendil, and that  funny Mr.Daron Night from the other day.

There were some tense moments but thankfully no one  fell. Although the gold was to be mine I shared it with the others as it seemed only fair to do so, though there was some confusion between Mr.Rollerwood and Mr.Night they later resolved. I left Haven having decided to repay Quin and Mirr' for their kindness by preparing a cake for dinner.

I know that I followed the directions? Yet it burned BADLY, Filling the house with smoke just before they returned home.

Quin said a few things that once again strangely upset me more then they should. Sadly, our second evening together ended very badly, they say it's no bother...

:o  Decilar 27, 1379 12:30am;

I awoke early (the pain made sleep difficult) and following a warm soak redressed my wounds.  Leaving the inn I headed for the Leilon docks were the message had said to meet my employer.

I was surprised to find Amelia seated on the ground watching the seagulls while
taking in the morning sun. We were then joined by Kobal Bluntaxe, Derrick Loadson, Oholibama, Ender Sai, and to my fear and joy both Quin and Mirren. Our party continued to grow and I met a Mage by the name of Daron Night who seemed nice enough.

We were approached by an Uthgardt who claimed that his tribe was in need of 'HEROES' to deal with a goblin and Giant raiding problem they had. When he finished we all boarded the ship he had chartered for the 'Barbarian Island'. It was FREEZING and I had lost my robes at 'the Mesire ruins. Many of us needed to warm ourselves by fires on the journey.

We cleared up the ice gobbies with ease as we neared his small ravaged village. Taking in what facts there were we continued on to the ice caverns were we were attacked by large pale Giants (though these seemed strange in appearance?) who's Mages knew the very effective lightning spell. Quin and Mr. Night were badly injured yet we managed to seal the cave in the end.

Returning to the village we were thanked by the Chieftain but sadly no gold came my way.  Upon our reaching Port Leilon I left Quin and Mirr' (they needed alone time) I headed to West Blackford and began the painful task of packing her possessions for my meeting with Sidonia later on. Once I had packed the chest and locked up the cottage I found Quin rounding the hill. He helped me carry the load to Port Hampshire and watched confused as I tossed it into the sea. I think he may have seen Sidonia?

In need of a drink I asked him to buy me one at the tavern. We hadn't been there ten minutes when Katrien Hommel strode in.

She gestured to Quin that they needed to talk. It soon became obvious that I was not welcome so I excused myself and headed to 'the Hall of the Weave'. Encountering one of the large scribing tomes I felt an ill sensation. A rage grew in me and I felt the need to confront Ms.Hommel and find out what the animosity between us was about. When I said that I considered her a friend she laughed in my face saying that we hardly even knew each other, still she had seemed much nicer back during those quests we had shared last year. I said a few nasty things barely able to control my feelings, not completely sure that other things were not in truth behind them. Eventually she and Quin returned to their meeting on the Chosen Queens of the Drow houses (of which it seems she numbers) though she seemed to be waiting for some thing to happen?

We were joined by Mirren half way through the meeting and after Ms.Hommel's departure Quin repeated the favor I had asked as he and I left Blackford, having no place to stay and no money could I stay with them? It was a relief when she said yes. I was more happy then I should be when I saw the guest room Quin had later done up for me ... I do hope this is the right thing?

It was so strange, I awoke upon the docks of Port Hampshire;  the strange blue skinned Sidonia seated next to me watching the sun set over the water. She must have heard me stir, for she turned to look my way. She said that I had been a sleep for two days now and she had begun to grow concerned. Seems she had carried me for most of the journey from the Mesire ruins.

She recounted to me how the  Head Mistress and  three other Elders had thrust the two of us clear of battle before they themselves fell to some dark power as it sought to possess my body before it's... MY spirit had returned.

I didn't think it to serious, then she told me how she had watched as the three Elder's spirit markers had crumbled quickly into dust. As we wept there she asked if the ritual had been a success. I felt such a fool. I tried to touch her mind, but felt suddenly as if my head was full of clay - there was NOTHING?!  Sidonia and I sat until the dark  purple sunset.

Though my favorite time of day, for the pains upon my body, and soul I wished to be dead.

The sea elf embraced me, then told me a shocking thing; The Head Mistress: Majehka Thel'dinarae had been her Mother!! I said nothing, I was so stuned. As I stood there she asked if there were any of her Mother's personal effects she could have, I agreed to check and meet up with her on the following evening, then removing her tattered robe, she dove into the waves quickly disappearing from sight.

Alone I made my way to Hlint my body a mess of throbbing cuts and bruises, thankfully my mind was so busy sorting through what I had been told the trip seemed short. I nearly missed Connor Garvill as he strode passed, I now almost wish that I had.

He told me the date; it seems I had been gone a week! Recalling a job I had agreed
to under take I asked that he walk with me to Lileon. On the way we stopped at Blackford Castle. When I laid eyes upon the cottage were the Head Mistress - Majehka had lived I has over come, it only grew worse. As I  bound and treated my wounds Mr.Garvill filled me in on the weeks events.

The Lucindites though massing at the Spellgard temple had been over taken in a Drow attack, many were now crucified or impaled on it's grounds. I shuddered near to a break down he continued. Assasins breaking into the Crowmwell home had attacked Mirren, marking her as a Queen of The house is Ara Duis, a vision of Mirr' screaming flashed through my mind as each and every word rivaling my wounds in pain.

At the end of our journey I was glad to say good night to Connor, though I do not fault him his lack for sensitivity.

Today I went across the seas North to 'Port Harbor' in search of the Blood cult known as 'Red Lotus' on what soon had become a crew less ship!

While Mr.Jinkle struggled to clear our jammed rudder of seaweed, our new crew of the poor Dwarf Doogan McKreed (deathly affraid of drowning), Aeralvia, Valianne Haltersen, Rufus Coldfinger, Hrothgar Starbow, Stryker, Eloril Tie'end, Niadin Fianiara, Jasra Waquesse, Leakim Blackheart, and Iseut Drake engaged the waves of Hydras and Cryohydras as they boarded. Mr.Shade with his Elven sight kept watch for land, and Cel' manned the riggings. I was able to get us to our destination.

(never knew I had it in me?)

Once there though, the researchers could find us little news, they will gather news
to form a plan to oppose the cult. All that way to learn nothing?!

Drow continue to invade Hlint each night in a search for the cleric of Illsare: Reventage.

This is a strange event. The Drow now attack in the broad day light? While there
I ran into Eloril Tir'end, and Rhizome who introduced me to Amelia Sunray and her strange clumsy giant friend Log. Captain Garent assigned Myself, Dragon Eye Stonesoul, Malakai LaSunya, and the Dark Lady Chanda to guard the Western gate.

later all parties were moved to convene at the Eastern gate because Garent believed the sun at their backs would make this gate a more likely target. A large force with a Priestess did indeed attack and many were wounded.

As they managed to get past Our scout EnZo Reynolt, he believes the Drow forces to hold a portal or gate spell of some design. Then a Drow speaker appeared to tell us all that 'In three days time many will die in Hlint.' Despite Rhiz's retort that 'Many Drow will die' It looks grim.

Following the heated battle, I encountered a cleric of Aragen named Scherzo Prestissimo.

 :)  A Layonara Sea legend;

The Beholder pirate Captain Bloodot Illithid once ravaged the seas near Rodlem. Near invincible he took as he wished from what and were he wished. It appeared as though he would control the seas eternally, however a powerful Mage, ship Captain aboard the flagship of Rodlem's navy flanked by 30 other vessels came against Bloodots single dread naught near the shoals of Greywatch tower.

They converged upon the Beholder and his crew, Those aboard the land fended off the incursion for 3 long hours of death until the Illithid used their mental powers to control the enemies crew in a battle that raged until only the flagship remained. Ramming the dread naught, The Navy Captain cast a fireball into the eye of the Beholder in a move that sacrificed himself. It is said that the Coral reefs of Voltrex still hide an undead pirate base.

:)  Ozy's Coup De Grace legend;

The rapier to end all rapiers, the 'Blade of Blue'. A needle thin Ogre slayer who's Dwarven crafter may have put a bane geas on. There are other tales that says
it was captured north of Zainge. There also exist two recorded instances that
mention battles with Orcs, and a rumor that says the 'Coup De Grace' is but a
simple rapier enchanted with a cold spell? Reports also mention repetitive Orc
defeats by a diminutive Elven in a hooded cloak welding the weapon.

Today I joined Cel' and Mr.Jinkle and a small party of beings to thwart a Gnome mushroom spell gone wrong. I then went with Cel' to battle a wide range of foes.

Later we met up with Tomi, his friend Peragrin Masrengol and a lady named Marainna Verestiya Korsaeeruil and we journeyed to Krandor.

 :)  Junar 9, 3038 3:00 pm

Was invited to a party at the Dwarf Gloin's home by Mirren Darksol. Almost went to
the Krandor crypts with Xandor Loiland, but he decided to go it alone. Those 'Champions' are almost always in over thier fool heads. Met a nice young man named Ash who needed a staff, so I introduced him to Valdor. So I ended up in the Seilwood with Mich', Mirren, and JonZer for the boar pelt, hunted by big Ogres.

Back in Hlint, while cooking dinner I met a Bard by the name of Galerovel Revin who gave me some wooden pipes, then Natha; a sassy woman, I would encounter her a lot this day?

In the evening I was asked by Cole to join his party. Once there I was surprised to find Vol' and Celgar there as well. It was a good sized party that traveled through the 'Blood desert'. Near Mistone I saw giant scorpions, and a beast they called a Manticore. Just South of Haven we lost Natha, and Khrys the Blacksmith who fell to the Spider riders of the Steel Toe Goblin clan. Back home a horrid thing named Grimgore Ironhide tried to eat RoXi' alive!! Before retiring for the night Vol' had his friend Alex craft me a fine iron rapier.

Having ventured out to earn some funds, I have traveled with a few parties, performing some rather 'gross' hunting tasks. This seems to be restoring memory and magic slowly. I am now in 'Fort Llast' and need to find a boar to skin, and 'will o' wisp essence'? Like I said, strange. Oh, I also Met Ozymandias Llewellyn, a kindly Elven Bard, and Matilda a very strange lady of darkness, with a kindly soul.

Encountered Master Oholibama in the 'Goblin Wasteland', as usual he seemed to busy to talk.

I Joined with Matilda, Arestes, and Plenarius Ashaley for a job. Sir Justian it seems
was really a Shifter whom had stolen the sacred sword from Toren's temple. The thief poisened himself, but later recovered and escaped. We tracked a Dwarven Fence who
planed to sell it to the Drow. We soon located this Fence within the inn at Hlint, and had to give chase to Anon lake.

After a tense situation she was captured and returned to the Temple with the sword.

I later met Peter Cross, Veldar Valgorian, and a Paladen named Michaelis Draego and we helped Mich' get the essence from the Hlint crypts.

Vel' then recrafted my rapier and helm for me.

Addressing the charges;

1) 'You cannot just make your character the head of a temple.'

She is a Head Mistress of a nomadic sect that are staying at Blackford Castle out of
Queen Allurialin's kindness, in exchange for general up keep of the Castle and Lucindite temple in her absence, not the head of  the temple but her charges.

2) 'Handmaiden of Lucinda is not a title you can just give to your character.'

Elinmire came up with this title. Since there seemed to be no rank of assendence in place
I just accepted it as making sense and went with it. ( I also did not wish to hurt feelings).

3) 'Soul Mother and the Harvester of Souls feature in your PIECES of FATE thread. These cannot just be taken and put into a development story as these NPCs can only be used with prior approval from Leanthar.'

This originally started as a possible goodbye gift for those friends of Naga who knew her
back story. I had these left over plot points were many years ago a wrongly murdered naga Sorceress named Adisesha, upon facing death infused her spirit within the very armor her killer had made in order to conceal it, thus avoiding being taken to the Plane of the lost. Around October Celgar Magnus presented this armor to Naga as a courting gift. When ever the girl became tired or emotionally strained Adisesha would exert efforts to gain control of her host.

The armor was destroyed in December, but for this story (to tie up plot threads) the Sorceress makes one last play, having remained in a dorment state within Naga's sub concious mind. I am now wondering just how a Harvester of Souls works when it captures a spirit? (ideas are welcome)

Extra questions:

A) I have a Dargonesti character that has proven to be popular, so wonder what stand
Layonara has on this breed of sea Elves, and the sub race known as Water-Touched.

B) The serpentine race the naga may also provide problems in the event of a spin off or
playabe quest? I have never seen on used in a NwN module or game. Do they exist, or can
they be created?

'An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared then a wild beast;
a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind.' - Budda

 Chapter IV:

  'Plane of the lost;

'What is this? SHE is revealed, I must act quickly as this one MUST not evade us again!'

Receiving the leave of the Soul Mother the Harvester flashes out of the ante' chamber. It is the briefest of moments before the entity charged with disposition of life's final judgment lowers the parchment she had been studying with a sigh.

'How that one hates a blemish to it's records.'

Returning her attention to the most recent arrivals the ethereal woman mutters;

'With  such a displacement, to NOT capture her WOULD fester in the Harvester beyond it's baring.'

*****

Sedoina freezes in reaching for the Onyx staff as all connection with the  woman called Selka' blinks out from view of her mind's eye. With a gasp she returns her attention to were RoXanne struggles to draw the staff closer, against her own size and the unnatural winds that threaten to pluck the wings free of her shoulders .

'Mother Maji, I have LOST her?!' the young Wicca' of the Order of  Shindaleria both voices, and transmits as finally her hand grasps the staff.

Overhead, amid the pulsing vortex of clouds and energy, the dark shadow with eyes of crimson rage grows nearer.

The Head Mistress moves a step back holding a Cyan capped staff in place with one hand while trying to keep the unconscious Naga from being blown clear of the alter, and it's diminishing field of energy. 'I believe we have finished here?!'

She returns to the Dargonesti woman in like manor.

'You MUST find her child, guide her home. Without both soul and mind a body is but as good as a corpse!'

In their respective corners Sisters Makuni and Phiena kneel entreating their deities aid.
While resolutely holding staves in place, their shimmering hoods are thrown back as robes snap in the force of the wind.

 *****

Adisesha's excitement built. Soon she would  escape, and those that put her to death would pay! Especially that accursed Tailor. Commissioned by her killer the fool fashioned armor using not only the skin of Phfthar, her Malar panther, but also she herself! Once more as it had countless times before, the thought pushed her to the point of bestial fury; that SHE, one of the greatest  Sorceresses of her day should suffer such a fate for but the vanity of a Mage.

*****

'Illumination!' Naga shouts though no sound reaches her ears. Not taking notice her eyes lock onto the ball of  blue energy building in her hand. Slowly a hue of purplish darkness seems to bleed into the light source until finally the light is gone.

'Blast!' She utters in what she KNOWS is a loud tone... this time taking notice of the silence. In this void, were all perception dies the taste of bile arising in her throat  Naga launches a Fireball. Ahead of her it moves until it to is lost from sight.

'Ok, let's NOT panic.... though it WOULD certainly be warranted for the day I'm having...'

Shaking free of this chain of thought she launches a second blast, this time chasing after it. Though lasting for some time all too soon it to ebbs out. Then something changes, dim ahead a spot of  blue blinks. 'Blue IS good, right.' She either voices or thinks, she is no longer sure?

Instead she mentally runs herself through her first year lessons on understanding spirit energy, and chi. 'This way.'  Startled at the interruption the young Wizard glances ahead to were the blue glow has become humanoid in shape. Elinmire Thel'dinarae, staff  held forward advances looking as if using an Ethereal armor spell. Like the light spell before, the darkness fights to swallow his light. 'It is useless to talk here, we MUST hurry or it will be too late. This way.'

Questions churn, but she sees little choice but to follow the friend she calls Teacher. The spectral guide remains close, yet far enough that for all her effort, Naga can not get close enough to touch him. A sad look upon his face Elinmire turns while continuing to back away.

'This is my limit I'm afraid. Repeat yourself and another will find you.'

Wondering at the vanishing figure's words Naga stops. 'Repeat myself?  HEY, who is looking for me?' She Pounds a silent fist into her hand, then shakes it for the pain before launching forth a fireball.  Naga then watchs after it until what she feels a safe distance is reached then races after it through the void.

*****

Trees blackened and brittle snap, their roots breaking free of soil as the crushing force splays outward. The four women within the Mesire ruins tears welling in their eyes groan against the pounding winds. Sister Jucieo, blood running from her nose for having been hit by a branch that whirled through the air, lets out a yelp as one of the energy blasts issued from the dark form shatters the staff within her grasp.

'Katia aid us!' She cries out, clutching at her tattered Prisma' robe. 'I do hope Sister Deagol is safe, but there is little I fear we can now do for her.' If she is heard it does not show. Together Sedoina and The Head Mistress, each with one hand upon Naga and the other clutching their staff stand fast while assault after assault thunders across a globe of invulnerability that Sister Makuni struggles to maintain around them.

'I have found her once again, Shindaleria IS with us!' Shouts Sedonia.

To her left the Head Mistress, her silver mane tossed in all directions nods. 'All the more reason to keep this foul creature at bay.  Jucieo, even a prayer is more productive then surrender! Unless you mean to tell me Katia's aid is denied us?!' Slowly, painfully Sister Jucieo forces herself to her feet, both laughing and spitting out blood.

'Maji, are YOU admitting that Lucinda NEEDs aid?' The three Elders look to each other a moment. Then Jucieo, Sister of the Order of Katia steps back from the foot of the alter, raising hands above her head shouts; 'It is good these trees days have passed, or I could not bare to do this. Do NOT leave the protection shield for ANY reason!' Her mantra is barely audible as she backs through the barrier, but there is no need to hear it. To those assembled they are no secret.

*****

The dark spirit form of Adisesha, fueled by hatred and her desperate desire to escape the Plane of  Souls laughs. It pulses as it lowers through the swirling clouds, it's serpentine shadow seeming to grow, blotting any view of the moon and stars from the night sky.

'It is but one human? Ssurrender to me her body and you all may live. I have no quarrel with you, but thiss one ISs marked, sshe ISs already MINE!' She bellows before continuing her attacks.

'It IS nearer now.' With that realization the Harvester of Souls pulses, picking up speed.

*****

Through the darkness Naga watches the blue spectral RaVen Astarius stride until she can discern no trace. The Elven Ranger had followed the appearance of Volrath D'Andareth. Though the concept of time was impossible, she knew one thing; this was taking TOO long for her liking. Besides which her head hurt along with indeed most of her body. Placing her hands upon her knees she was about to sit on what she now accepted as down to rest.

'Ohoho, now be not the time for resting Naga, now be a time for action!'

The slightest of whimpers escapes her lips as she glance toward the voice of Oholibama Dwarven Mage. 'Mother of all, another one so soon?'

With stern expression, the latest specter with a grunt mutters from behind her eyes, 'There be no cause for rudeness.' Forcing herself slowly erect,  Naga can barely manage to produce another fireball, however having taken no notice of her strain the Dwarven figure with a roar like laugh races off after it.  'If I get outta' here I am gunna' sleep a week.' She thinks as she drags her feet forward to follow.

 *****

the area outside their straining protection could have passed for the darkest vision of any of the nine hells. All around trees were in flames while the local beasts, snakes, and arachnids raced to safety.  Sister Jucieo, having channeled everything into one enormous Hell ball now lay in a charred heap outside the barrier. Inside the remaining Wicca' watched silently as the first of the fiery eyes once again took shape followed by the gathering blackness that gave it's body form. Oily worms poured down like rain to bounce and spark off their cover Sidonia watched as some slithered off across the charred ground outside to find cover.

 'So it was for nothing.' Sister Makuni sighs weakly her shaking hands outstretched. Sweat pours through matted dark hair that clings to her forehead. 'Listened to that Bard we should have Majehka Thel'dinarae. I do so hope this girl of yours IS ultimately worth it.' The Head Mistress sighs, her own doubts building. She motions for Sidonia to take hold of her staff  before moving to stand next to her friend. Leaning close enough to be heard she whispers;

'Maki, dear friend. You should rest. I shall continue in your place. Then as a favor to a friend I ask that you forgive me. The child was in so much pain. I could not deny what seemed a simple enough request. I ask you how could I, or indeed any one of us have perceived such an attack would take place?'

*****

Outside the barrier the Naga Sorceress  Adisesha, having  once more assembled her spirit energy form feels a terror seize her. 'They have found me, I have wassted too much time and foolisshly left myself expossed to long! A cursse upon those pessts, if today I fall they sshall join me!'

Chapter III:

'All that we see, or seem is but a dream within a dream' - Edgar Allan Poe

As dark clouds pulse and churn in spirals over head, the laughter is replaced by the thunderous sound of a female voice.

'It is ironic iss it not, that one calling herself Naga would be the one too free me? Girl, do you even know what a  naga iss? 'I doubt it, your head iss sso wonderfully vacuous.' The voice chuckles mockingly, not awaiting an answer.

Before Naga the coils of darkness have become pillars, then shapes as of human bone. She stands transfixed as pulsing red energy shrouds the nine forms now slowly taking on features.

Soon Celgar Magnus, Katrien Hommel, Plenarius Ashaley, Brisbane Woodmaiden , Matilda Landsend, Morrst Deadtree, Torin, Oran'thalis and Peter Cross seem to  stand before her. Unlike Mirren before however, at a distance a twisted rage is clearly apparent.

 'Their eyes...?! '

As she watchs, dark worm like masses churning within lidless sockets slowly make their way down the pale bloodless cheeks of their hosts. An urge to vomit clenches her abdomen.

Instead, having looked away Naga flees racing between the shattered ruins, back towards the woods.

'I have lost it... no more Will-o-Whiskey for this girl, no way.  Mother, why? Have I not redeemed myself yet? Have a shred of mercy  please!'

*****

Naga's body spasms within the pyramid of energy . The Head Mistress can only watch torn in her desire to protect her charge, and knowing that in leaving her position she would bring certain death to the one she would aid.

At their posts the other Prisma' Wiccas now stand, both hands white about their staves. Then it happens; Sister Phiena falters, her right hand clutching her chest. The Wicca' of Aragen drops to one knee, left arm out stretched shakily keeping the onyx staff in place. Above the forest's groaning trees a funnel cloud whirls, bathed in pulses of energy that hiss and steam.

'I mustn't loose focus... mustn't....'  Mutters Sidonia, though taking a quick glance shows to clearly that either way, their situation was worsening. In the gale force wind Sister Phiena struggles then tumbles, rolling until being slammed into a tree. Thunderous laughter echoes above the chaos. 'This day I WILL be free!' All eyes tearing against the wind turn skyward, except Sidonia's.

The connection broken, Naga's body drops to the alter. Pressing low to the ground the sea elf crawls towards the abandoned position once held by  her fallen comrade. 'Selka' stay with me... she groans' exhaling as eyes of fiery rage flash through her mind. '

Quin Cromwell glances back to were his love lays resting and chuckles at the leaves mingled with her blond hair. He sits upon the bank of Lake Rillon, fishing pole longing to be disturbed. The heated mixture of pain and fear  rips through him with out  a  warning. Quin clutches his skull, his pole left to float down the stream. 'Selka' stay with me... we near finishing....' an unfamiliar voice says behind his eyes, and then a scream?!

*****

The breath comes hard as Naga throws herself through the door of the Hall of the Weave and turns, freezing the door shut behind her.

'Need to think, what nonsense is this?!'

Before the thought gets much further a voice echoes through the raved chamber, cautiously moving between wreckage she peers over a fallen bookcase. An ethereal figure stands, back toward her, yet the sound of cup and saucer leaves little doubt.  'Master Llewellyn?!'  Naga cries out. Frustrated with herself Naga slaps her forehead.

'Think, don't say, there IS a difference!

The figure turns slowly, silently towards her. 'Naga my dear, no need to hide. We were just enjoying a respite, join us please.'

Before having risen fully from behind refuge , she stops. The figure's hue shifts between a blue and red. In his hand the Elder Elven bard holds a pike on which is the head of Connor Garvill, it's face locked in terror.

'I just LOVE getting into people's heads, don't you?' The now red specter hisses, coiling a black tongue around Garvill's lifeless ear. Turning on her heels the young Wizard sprints for the distant doorway.

For the first time, Naga notices faces staring down from battered shelves; Eloril Tir'enEd, Michaelis Draego, Myrena D'Antoree, Veldar Valgorian, JonZer Hexblade, Stryker, Rin Assombri, Jinkle Blackthorne, Tomi Shadowfoot, Talen Kar, Mike Weadon, Brand Hecate, Galerovel Revin, and Xiatha Quinn. Each friend's eye sockets pouring forth black serpentine forms that pool upon the polished stone floor. Naga struggles to not loose her footing, her boot crushing some of the oily creatures underfoot.

'This way.' a familiar voice urges as a blue glow becomes visible ahead from behind a stack of tomes. Using her hands to keep upright Naga swings around a heavy bookcase to find before her one of remaining giant books still laid open at the wall.

'In you GO!' rings Ozy's voice as pushed from behind, Naga falls toward the pages laid before her outstretched arms.

Around her she suddenly finds herself within a featureless room of neither here, or there. Before her as through a pain of glass Ozy's pale features seeming at great distance are visible, still standing within the Weave Hall study.

'Did you not know child? Your hisstory.' In horror Naga can only watch as the Bard's hands reaching out, slowly close the book.

PIECES of FATE: Part II  'Today was tomorrow yesterday'

'She is gone' Sidonia says softly remaining in a knelt down position to the right of the alter. The woman known only as the Head Mistress places both her hands upon Naga's face using he thumbs to gently close the motionless girls eye lids.

'We must act quickly then, staves into position.'

To each corner of  the alter upon which Naga now lay moved the four Prisma' Wicca'.  First Sister Makuni of the Mistian Order stepped forward. Planting her sapphire topped staff firmly into the ground as she takes a kneeling posture saying 'Glacius: Water birth, and child may  Mist guide through every trial.' Sister  Jucieo moves next repeating this action with her onyx topped staff chanting; 'Varidius: Fruit of soil, stone, and sand. Katia lend us nature's hand.' Phiena clears her throat, making her way to the third position Fire Opal staff in hand. Ignius: fire renewal, guide by light. Aragen show the path to right. Finally the Head Mistress steps to her right raising her own  cyan staff and striking the final mark. 'Spiritus: Soul and spirit, minds true eyes, Lucinda disclose truth in face of lies.' As the final stone aligns, arching pulses of energy race to join above the alter while cascading down over Naga's still form before flaring once and racing skyward.

'Do you still have a link with Selka'?! Is she all right?!' The head Mistress shouts to Sidonia while wincing into the building force of wind, leaves, twigs and small dust clouds assailing her eyes. She can see the young sea elf's lips moving, but can hear nothing.

From her own kneeling position Sidonia spots the Elder woman struggling to be heard,  because of her peoples improved hearing tries to signal back an answer, before shouting that she did indeed still sense Selka'. What she does not mention is the fear and confusion she was receiving.

                                                                *****

Naga slowly moves to sit up, opening her eyes slowly after rubbing them with the backs of her hands. It is dark, the air thick with the scent of earth and moisture. 'Were are we RoXi'?' When no sign of her pixie friend appears she fumbles to her feet. 'Illumination!' She says. Slowly a blue orb of light builds in her palm before spreading across her body. Looking about she mutters to herself; 'Great, a cave. Bet it's full of NASTY surprises too.' Naga's hand moves toward were her rapier should be, and is startled to find it absent. 'Mother of all!'

Quickly she scours the cave floor, and after a heated rant gives up. It is some time later that she rounds a turn. Her boot sends something clattering across the ground. As the shadows give way  Naga squeals. Before her lies the skeletal remains of four human bodies clad in tattered Barbarian gear. 'Well, this is unpleasantly familiar.' She shivers before examining her find more closely discovering a sealed canteen, and a tarnished short sword. The grisly task finished Naga turns several times before selecting a direction that to her just seems right. Unnoticed eyes of pulsing red appear, then vanish into shadows.

She discovers a exit, just as her light spell ebbs out. Ducking her head Naga squeezes to the outside, what she sees stuns her; green skies, a dirt road lined with large trees their ample beaus rattling in a warm gentle breeze. 'Ok, this IS seriously freakin' me out!' Shaking her head Naga moves slowly down Memory lane.

Soon she comes upon what she both sought, and feared. The large twin gates to Eastern Hlint. Seem heavier then usual as Naga works to push them open with her shoulder. Once inside the sky  darkens,  she drops her sword and canteen to clatter upon a charred path. Before her, the husks of the shops and craft house whistle, the strangely well off windmill groans, its bare wheel turning slowly. It was like this every were Naga went, destruction. Within the bank she discovers skeletal remains of every type heaped in a corner, that they were dry with age brought some small comfort. Still it was with a greater haste that she made for Krandor. Every were there is no sign of life. Ft.Last, lay in ruin, and the sight of the blacken and broken walls of Blackford make Naga heart sick. What ever had done this? Did the Drow truly have THIS kind of power? Could they do this much in but a single days time?!

As she ponders, a voice just beyond hearing gains her attention. 'Mirr'?!' Blindly she rushes to the home of her friends, stepping over the remains of it's shattered door. 'Quin?! Mirren?! You here?!' A breeze brushes by her a displacement of shimmering air moves out the doorway.  Naga is certain she hears a voice say 'Boo'. She follows the distortion onto the dried river bed and as she watches the familiar form of Mirren Darksol appears, barely visible before her.

Excited and a bit angry Naga races to embrace her ever nearly visible friend, only to pass through, stumbling to the cracked river bed. 'Naga where did you go? I can't find Quin... Naga, help me.' Mirren distorts, her words slurring. Struggling to her feet, knees and elbows bleeding Naga looks up. 'Of course I will, Mirr' please stop the invisibility spell, it's NOT helpin' my mood. What has happened here?'

The figure seems to reach out to take hold of Naga's hand's only to again pass through. Mirren's ghostly features distort in to a panicked, wild look. Slowly, she sinks down into the mud her arms flailing in panic. 'What is happening to me?!' She cries, now within the ground up to her waist. Throwing herself down Naga tries repeatedly to get a grip on  her friend only to pass helplessly through. Tears stream from her eyes as with a final scream her friends fear filled features disappear from sight.

As she watches a darkness forms in it place and a wet blackness spreads across the mud, it branches off in lines that writhe and coil outwards. Naga scurries back on her heels and palms. 'Corath's cursed breath!' she wheezes as laughter fills the air, seemingly  from all directions.

Elinmire Thel’dinarae: Arch magus of Pranzis;

I have found in the Blackford Castle archives valued tomes of your services to the relms of
Layonara, and am now more then ever, honored to address you as 'TEACHER' and indeed a
 beloved 'FRIEND'.

Selka' Ui Deagol: White wicca' of Lucinda

                   ((aka Naga))   ;)
 ______________________________________________________________________________

*scribbled in a strange script of green*

  Lae Ann: of the GreenLitus Pixie Clan;

I too greatly miss my clan, and now distant woodland Sisters. Though my tale it would seem
is not as tragic as your own. I may be able to aid you with your freedom, should you indeed
desire such. Although arrogent at times, I have learned that 'Homenz' are not that BAD.

My clan is able to free bond, thus I serve my Mistress in honor for a great service done by
her on the behalf of my Queen and clan back in our own relm.

RoXanne: of the Druukulen Wood Pixie Clan ^-^

18
Her birth name was Majehka Thel'dinarae. Growing up she and her younger sibling
Elinmire had seldom seen eye to eye.

Never one for so called 'TRUE' religious establishment Elinmire, feels knowledge should
be made accessible to all, not just the devout few.

She left Dregar while still in her early teens to seek her destiny in the fields of religion and magic. As  years, then decades passed, Elinmire would lose track of his sister who continued to grow in influence within a Lucindite sect under the Wicca' name of Maji'.

Then some 30 years ago, while still in his mid thirties Elinmire again encountered Majehka. Soon however, feelings of abandonment, along with time having done little to change his perceptions, they parted in disagreement once again.

He would not change, a career of academia in front of him. He felt well respected, knowledgeable and not the least bit interested in religion cults. Unbeknownst to the younger Thel'dinarae his sister had surpassed him in power, having gained the title of Lucinda's Hand Maiden.

In spite of their explosive differences of opinion the family ties still lie there. Unvoiced each deeply respected the other, their separate paths,  bristling only where religion and agnostic beliefs cross. Elinmire "affiliates" with Aregen, as he is interested in knowledge of all sorts. He had  been to the archives within Blackford castle many times. Unaware that the Head Mistress of the Lucindite temple there was none other then the sister he had long given up for dead.

In the many years following their parents death He had nearly forgotten of her. Now having learned the truth of  Majehka's life's work Elinmire will always be respectful to
her memory, though remaining a little ticked by her choice to remain hidden, without
so much as a word to him  for all those long years.

*Thanks to Kethryc for helping give a grand old lady not only a name, but a history. ;)

Dawn: the village of Saaman:

'Arise Sisters, it is time we leave this place.' Breaking their lotus positions, the ring of six robed figures rise to their feet, graceful in their unison. The room is simple, it's wooden walls groaning as winds rage against them. The bed in the corner is unused. Four in shimmering robes  take their respective staff from against the door, and the party is soon moving through the narrow hall, and down stairs.

'I trust your night was peaceful? the portly frame of the Inn keeper's wife moves toward the guests after returning the cover to the pot she had been stirring. 'The storm was rather rough.'.

'Yes, child. We did not suffer to badly though, your room was quite calm.' the forward most figure replies with a soft yet calming tone. The woman brushes he hands over her apron. 'Will your group be staying for breakfast? It's Oats and bread. As she nears the woman grins, her friendly eyes twinkle in the growing light that streams through the windows. 'I apologize if you had been put to tasks, however we must decline.'

'Uhmm, excuse me, could we at least take some bread?' All hoods turn slightly towards the source of the question. In her borrowed robe Naga  shrinks back a bit. Idiot! She thinks to herself.  Can you not control your big mouth? At this her stomach growls as if in protest. Not for the first time since leaving Blackford Castle she wishes she had not forgotten to accept Quin's offer of fish fillets last evening. There is a soft murmur among the party, before their leader chuckles softy.

'It IS a long journey. Yes, if it would not trouble we would ask for some of your bread. This should cover your troubles. 'The excitement in the woman's face is undisguised as she takes the offered weighty pouch.

Lead by a single ox drawn cart, the party makes their way South along  forest lined dirt roads. The Head Mistress of the Lucindite Wicca' sect guides the cart. Gently  urging their sickly beast forward as the wheels of it's charge, thick with clay groan loudly.  Their journey continues for some hours, the sun ever growing in temperature. By mid day, drenched with sweat, and feeling dizzy  Naga can not bring herself to remove her now heavy robe as none before her have either. 'Are these even people? They must feel somethin'? she mutters in what she hopes is a whisper.

Having flown most of the day, the slight green pixie now exhausted had chosen to ride her friend, seated upon her right shoulder the pixie known as RoXanne chimes in laughter. 'Keep it up sweetie and you can walk.' Naga wheezes in response.  Not a word is exchanged between the woman as they walk, making her flinch with each small  bite she takes from her dry bread roll which sounds like thunder in her ears. Ahead of her the three Prisma' Wicca' from Sister covens move silently beneath their robes. Wicca of Aragen: Phiena, Wicca' of Katia: Jucieo, Wicca' of Mist: Makuni, and for some reason a White Wicca' of  Shindaleria? From what she had managed to glimpse this woman was about her own age had said very little, and was spoken to even less then Naga herself  by her more senior Sisters.

Turning left off the road they journey into the outer edge of the region know as the Dire Woods. It's sickly looking trees with rattling foliage not for the first time bring doubt and unease to Naga's already troubled mind; 'Maybe I COULD learn to live with these voices in my head after all?

Not fully understanding her strange ability to touch the surface thoughts of those people she comes in physical and emotional contact with, a mind 'Sifft' as she learned in a dream. Naga had to admit that she should have been far more selective when choosing to use it. As far as she knew it was an irreversible ability of her people. Now however, the level of voices within her  mind could become difficult, indeed painful to separate from her own thoughts. 18 days ago, learning of the new moon, the period of each month were a Wicca's ability is weakest Naga had gone to the Lucindite Head Mistress to request aid in removing the Sifft. Days later she had been called back to the Elder's home....

'I have consulted with as many Masters of the mental mystic arts, and have discovered a possible solution child. I say 'possible' because it has not been done to remove one's biological ability before. I am warned and thus warn you, It could drive you to madness... even death.'

The memory caused again a shudder through her that startled RoXanne enough that she took flight. 'It's ok, just a bit chilly that's all.' she says softly to the pixie whose face shows more then a trace of doubt.

'There, it is ahead!' shouts Sister Jucieo, 'the Mesire ruins.' It was the first time she heard any emotional tones from the Katian Priestess, they sounded like rainfall? Soothing, while upsetting? Two Sisters moved to aid their Lucindite counter part as she climbed from the cart. For the first time Naga noticed an agedness to the woman's movements, a frailty that now concerned her. 'Mistress, are you ok? What is wrong she cries as she hastens to join her mentor and friend.

Selka' dear calm yourself. Such turmoil will not help me. I am old, you know this It is simply the dampness taunting my lazy body. 'Selka'  Only she still addressed Naga by the name given  her when she entered the Lucindite Wicca' Order, selka deagol... diamond of the seas. Despite her self a tear rolled down her cheek, something felt suddenly very wrong?  But when she tried to voice it the Head Mistress raised a hand and slowly shook her head, strands of silver hair spilling from beneath her shimmering hood.

The slight White Wicca' of  Shindaleria having gathered up the staves and scrolls from the cart makes her way toward the group. As she watchs her hand each Sister a crystal capped staff Naga realizes, 'I still do not know her name?' Having given the final staff the hooded figure turns, ' I am called Sidonia Sister Deagol.' At first Naga takes no notice, then realizes with a start...

 'She did NOT speak?!'

She ponders this as they move through the trees toward a battered over grown grotto, it's stone walls, some laying on the ground in pieces littering the area of the forest floor. The tetrad of women spread out, and soon the sound of battle spells is heard. A large arachnid crashes through the brush, catching Naga by suprise. She stumbles back as her heel strikes a root, and is barely missed by the flash of spell that shatters the creature into frozen bits.

'Are you alright?' Sister Sidonia asks reaching down to help her to her feet. Try to stay back from the tree line, dark creatures abound here. 'S... sure no problem. Should we not try and help?' Naga asks while dusting off her dirt covered backside. We would merely hinder our Sisters, they are clearing the area surrounding us and placing enchantments to keep us all safe. You will be helpless once the ritual begins.' With that said Naga feels again a feeling of dread. 'Great, thanks for the insight.' She sighs moving to follow Sidonia to were the Head Mistress is clearing growth from a alter stone.

'There, that SHOULD do nicely.' The Elder says as the two near her. 'What?' Naga pipes as the woman leans upon her staff. 'This place holds many dark forces, older secrets then most can recall. But, it is a convergence point between plains were the Weave will be not only strongest, but close enough with to require less strain on our part to reach the desired out come. But it must be cleansed, or more harm then good could result.'

Both of the younger women frown. 'All this, just to remove my mind sifft? I really do not understand any of this?'  Naga sighs. Gesturing to the area about them she spots the other three Sisters as they emerge from behind the sickly trees.

'The easiest explanation is, we are going to REMAKE your mind, with the permission and guidance of your ancestors, we hope.' Sidonia offers. 'The mind is a delicate structure, linking the identity to the soul. Changing it physically is the area we know the least about... understand that we are Guessing here.'

Listening the Head Mistress sighs, 'True enough. The sun is fading, let us prepare ourselves, requesting cooperation between our deities for the sake of our Sister Deagol, and indeed ourselves.'

Four hours pass to quickly, soon torches and illumination spells provide the only light beneath the partial disk that is the new moon. Naga having taken her position lays across the stone alter staring at the clouds as they move slowly across it's face. Her body numb from a herbal brew's effect, she barely hears the words spoken over her by the Elder Lucindite.

She catches a glimpse of RoXanne's glow as her frantic friend flits tensely back and forth between the trees. After a while she notices a melodic chant cresing her mind, it's words she does not understand. Yet, their familiarity puzzles Naga? With effort she turns toward the perceived source. 'Sidonia?'

The mysterious young Wicca' of  Shindaleria is  enduring, and mercurial, dressed in a gossamer tunic, her skin a white blue tint ..... 'Dargonesti?!'  This thought echos as the darkness over comes Naga.....

She moves through the dark night, clutching tight her cloak. The air about her feeling filled with sorrow, indeed rich in pain. Soon, as she rounds the final hill, the lights of a dwelling come into view. Slowly the young woman removes a glove, but before she can knock the door swings open. 'Come in child.' floats through her mind, as a current of warm air rolls over and past her into the chilled night.

Removing her cloak and damp boots she strides toward a figure seated in the light of a fire, she breaths in deeply, taking in the scent of roasted almonds as she drops to one knee. 'I am here Head Mistress, I seek your guidance, and forgiveness.' As she turns from the fire the lined but finely featured face of the woman is hard to date. With a soft chuckle the Head Mistress of the nomadic Lucindites sighs. "Selka' dear, rise and join me by the fire.

' The young woman known as Naga glances up, slightly stunned at the use of her former Wicca' title. Getting to her feet she watches as the Head Mistress places a plate and tankard on the table nearby. 'I was just taking a repose, please Child, come there is far more then I require. Warm yourself, in side as well as outside. Then we shall see of easing your mind humm?'

Unclasping her cape, Naga settles into the offered chair, covering her lap with it. She removes a small green form carefully from a pouch. As the scent of food touches the small, slight pixie's senses she stretches and flits towards the the nuts pilled near by. Taking hold of one in both hands the pixie yelps and quickly shakes her hands. "Careful my dear RoXanne, those are hot.'

'I thank you for seeing me so late, indeed with all the strange events about I am suprised to find you here?' Having herself returned to her seat the elder woman sips at her own drink and grins. 'Nonsense, I am old. These matters are best handled with more swiftness then is possibe for me these days. There is a slight ring like burp, and the two watch as the swirling flight line of pixie light comes to rest upon the herth. The women chuckle lighty, 'A bit much for our small friend my thinks?'

The two finish and sit in silence for a time, gazing into the fire. 'I still recall the day Sister D' Antoree brought you to the temple. You were so polite, and quiet... oh so quiet. Yet I sensed such passion and fortitude beneath the surface. In deed Myrena had already told me of your actions with the poor soul Rhizome in her deffence, such a contrast to the child I saw before me it then seemed.'

Neither looks at the other as they speak in the fire light, Naga simply lifts her cape to her chin. 'Am I to be allowed into the Order once more Mistress? I know that my actions were selfish, and that those actions cast a poor example to the public. It is no excuse I know, but I thought I had found love?'

In the darkness of her throne like chair the Head Mistress weaves a series of rapid string weave patterns. 'True enough, sneeking out nights to be with that boy, Indeed allowing him to enter the very temple at night to see you, was most wrong?' At this the hiss of a chuckle escapes the womans lips. 'Though that night I chased him from your room, I did see how you could be so charmed.'

Naga drops her cape, slack jawed. 'You knew, all alone?!' The elder places her string circle upon the table, before uncovering and cresing a smokey crystal ball. 'Why did you not say something, stop me?!'

'It is as I have said, you are a head strong and intelligent girl. Think, if I forbade your relations with the Magnus boy would it have stopped you? After some consideration a frown forms upon Naga's features.

'You are correct. she sighs, I would not have listened.' There is a faint knock upon the door. 'Ah. that would be Sister Rilhredia. Come in . The Healer enters and kneels before speaking, seemingly unaware of Naga's presence. 'The Archivist's chambers are prepared Mistress.' Her message spoken she waits in silence. 'Thank you child, you may return to the Castle. Sister Deagol will join you shortly.' Rilhredia nods and with a quick smile at Naga turns and returns to a now thunderous night.

'In your absennce Ril' had been tending Queen Allurial's library. No offence to her, but her duties as a Healer had begun to suffer for it. She is most pleased at your return, as are most here. But be advised, this is but a probationary situation. You will continue to serve the relm of Mistone, and it's people. When you rejected the assignment in Dresden, Chosen D'Andareth volenteered to fill the void.' A slow sigh escapes the Headmistress. The elder woman moves away from the table, stiring up the coals of the fire as she continues. 'Seems that one had feelings for you as well. I admit you do have a way with people, males mostly I notice. So, you must be dedicated, another error in judgment will not be forgiven.'

The smile that had begun to form slips from Naga's face. She had wondered of Volrath's location for months. To learn that he had gone to cover her rejection of both the Order's assignment, and indeed he himself burned with guilt. 'I understand Mistress, and would expect no less. It is an honor to serve the order as an Archivist. Your kindness once more moves me, I will not disappoint again.' Naga sips the cooling ale and adjusts the napkin covering the slumbering RoXanne, who having discovered a gold piece clutchs it to her breast as she snores softly.

Once more having returned to the table the Elder chuckles softly. 'Let her keep it. I shall recover it from any donations that you earn later on. The new moon approachs, so we shall meet again in two months time to discuss matters of continuing your Wicca' trials, and perhaps... just perhaps a return to the Priesthood.'
