Jabra sits quietly by the pond in Hlint, eschewing the bench in favour of the soft grass. The half-light of dusk turns the ripples of the water an eerie blue, reflecting a vague blue glow onto Jabra's face. His gaze does not waver, yet is not fixed on anything; he stares into space, into the ripples and folds of the water. His feet done for the day, his mind wanders
The city is odd. Its ways are...confusing. I try to blend...but this is not home. It is not my place. Yet, I enjoy it. The thrill of unfamiliarity. The uncertainty. It almost...I can change here. I am not myself, and yet...I am. I am another facet of my being. My thoughts are mine, my actions are mine, my words are mine - although the common tongue sits strangely sometimes - aye...
The city is not odd. It is exhilarating! I am free! But I am restricted also...one cannot wander freely anywhere, doing anything... But oh! The possibilities. Social metamorphosis, mmmm...
Yet! There is so much else missing in the city. Metamorphosis amongst men is meaningless. The soul is not satisfied by social interaction alone. The soul is fulfilled in its wanderings, in its musings. My soul is fulfilled in the forests, the caves...but then...these abound also...There are many beautiful locations outside the city. Forests with cool rain, caves - damp, humid, Rock formations, falcons! All excite the soul, all keep the soul of a man dynamic, changing, adaptable.
Oh...how the mind does wander and the soul does seek its balance, an the body yearns for its peace. Some day the three will make one. One dynamic whole...
