Kharloc write now. Today, when do work, Kharloc meet Dur’Thak, Hector, Kinai (Kharloc think that right) and Czu. Kharloc not know why they ask Czu to count a lot. They talk lots; Kharloc listen, then Dur’Thak and Hector let angry spirits take them, start fighting. Kharloc think Hector no like Dur’Thak-talk (Kharloc think it hard listen). Girl-Kinai say go arena (Kharloc not know have good fight place!) and let fight to settle angry spirits. Kharloc excited, go watch.

Kharloc not know who win; fight not clear. Hector won, then Dur’Thak won, then Dur’Thak won, but later Hector maybe win? Not know, but it no matter – fight was good. Dur’Thak use Weave in fight, and Kharloc saw Dur’Thak had much advantage in fight. Dur’Thak was one that find Kharloc by bird – give Kharloc work if Kharloc want learn Weave.

Fight over, then Kharloc go talk to Dur’Thak. He say learn Weave not easy, then something about tieffy not easy people. Then had talk about fiend, and plane… Kharloc got dizzy a bit. Kharloc no care, Kharloc strong. He can do.

Then talk about Weave, what magic in plane is – that magic on each plane different. Dur’Thak say here, must pull magic from Weave, then he showed magic lots – even made Kharloc-halbard glow!

Dur’Thak give Kharloc papers to study, then say Kharloc must do work and study paper. When ready, Kharloc find Dur’Thak, then continue.

Dur’Thak must think Kharloc strong. Dur’Thak master now.

The script in this journal is scrawled in a sharply angular manner.

Kharloc think he must write more if want to improve human. Kharloc start in little book.

Kharloc walk many moons before reaching human-place… mostly human, anyway. Kharloc was hungry and not have much; left things when running from other strong orc tribe. Kharloc never seen so much magic before; exploding fire, make tribe fall sleep, make tribe not move. Not like shaman – no making vines grab feet, no turn skin into bark. Kharloc think she no get power from Grand; no say Grand’s name when cast.

Humans no attack Kharloc when he come to human-place, it good start. Maybe Kharloc look weak – no weapon, look sick. Kharloc not weak!

Learn name of human-place, know name as Hlint. Kharloc met four skinny ones, or maybe five… Kharloc no pay attention. Learn name Akki, Murr-ee-na (she no like call Murr by Kharloc), then no sure other name. Got one wearing purple or black – he welcome Kharloc to Hlint. Kharloc thought much about food and drink, talk about it, then woman in white say no drink, make angry spirits when drink too much. Akki say drink good, then Akki say white-woman want to be frog and have babies. Kharloc think white-woman weird.

Talk some, then Kharloc remember weapon. Akki show seller of sword-on-stick (Kharloc learn it as halbard). Akki then show she can do magic (but not shaman-magic), then learn she Weave-gifted. Kharloc want to know more about Weave.

One moon pass, and Kharloc met one more magic-maker (mage, Kharloc learn). Kharloc is shameful; Kharloc forgot name of mage. He also forgot name of people when he came to Hlint. Kharloc must remember better if want to be smarter.

He learn from mage that Weave is lots of energy, like sky. Kharloc want learn more, but he say he no teacher.

Kharloc then meet Praylor, strong warrior. He help Kharloc do work, then Kharloc ask if he know any Weave-teachers. He say yea, but better put paper on boards. Kharloc do.

The script is scrawled in a very angular manner.

Kharloc been in Hlint for three moons. Kharloc learn and hear about Weave, seen magic from Weave. Kharloc want learn even more about Weave. Kharloc is looking for Weave-teacher.

Kharloc not rich, not have many Trues. But Kharloc work hard, will do little works for teacher. Kharloc will be doing other works in Hlint for many moons, so he will be around.

- Kharloc
