Well, if it's the all in one, my advice would be to go in and download each hak separately.

Trust me, it's worth the effort.

Already on it!! good to see we're on the same wavelength, tho! :)

So... Eye of the Storm finishes loading up, and then... ... ... nothing. NWN closes down, and I am sitting here, dumbfounded, looking at my desktop background. A little frustrating after a weeklong character submission process. The problem seems to stem from something in the "all in one" haks package.

Development Journals and Discussion / And so it begins...

Today it all hit me really hard. I have been having trouble getting people to join me. I've been ignored, reviled, or treated as the butt of jokes since Mariner was killed. I have been left to fend for myself... and have come up short again and again. I miss him so much some times.

It seems that the only thing that I've been able to trust so far is this bent, cheap, low quality rapier I spent my first handful of True on. Even this ends up being less than reliable, to add to the already dismal situation I find myself in. It is truly beyond miserable.

Today, I was walking to Fort Vehl from Port Hempstead. I came across two ladies, and when simply trying to say hello, I received nothing but suspicious glares and cold shoulders. Am I that hideous? I've spent a lot of time learning how to hide these awful fangs. Are they so obvious that saying hello from 3 meters away makes them visible? I know that I am better at hiding them than that!

Anyways, I took advantage of the lack of general population (which seems to be a condition of my presence anywhere) and took a dip in a river between Port Hempstead and Dapplegreen. It was quite pleasant, until my fortuitous luck reaffirmed it's existence and I got snagged on a fishing hook.

While limping out of the water and getting dressed again, a kind fellow named Fallon Archmaster happened to show up. After lamenting for an absurd amount of time, something like 3 hours, we ventured forth in an attempt to raise my spirits and weigh down our wallets. We ventured to the crypts of Fort Vehl, and took on a host of undead that had nearly recruited me to join their ranks on several occasions before this.

After successfully dispatching several dozen monsters, we returned some ashes from one of them to a halfling undertaker, who offered the absurdly meager sum of 200 true... not nearly enough for having been left bleeding to death several times on the floor of a burial tomb.

So, there is a silver lining for this day, and is as follows:

While most people throughout this realm seem to abhor my very existence, there are still a few who are willing to give me a chance. And should I fail to find such a person, I've always got this dingy rapier *flicks the sword which produces a loud metallic clang* to keep me company.

Introduce Yourself / A re-introduction

Greetings all!

I am Brotherkaine. For some of you with long memories for relatively insubstantial events, I had a a character submission back in Nov. '07. I was never able to actually play my character due to software/download issues I was having at the time. Now, after literally years of inactivity, I was recalling when I was trying to get involved in the community and take Kol (my char) out into Layonara. I was hoping to get back into it, but wanted to ease my way back in. I don't even know if I'd still be able to play the poor tiefling rogue that never got a chance to wake up from her drunken spill (refer to Character Submission: Kol Hardigar). Anyways, I hope that I have more success getting online with my new computer, and that I can join you all in forums and in play!

Hey, a quick question to anyone and everyone... I just got a character approved, (see approvals Kol Hardigar) and I have been trying to load the required haks on my computer (relic G4 iMac running OSX 10.4). I am currently on my 3rd attempt, at each time it seems to fail miserably. The first time I got as far as loading the game, only to have the game crash upon completion of the loading process. The next two times were met with an unfortunate event of loosing all the words on the menus, which is great if I had everything on the menus memorized, but I can't claim to have that level of knowledge of the game yet. Any ideas? Does anyone else have a Mac running OSX that is capable of loading up and playing Layonara? or is this another tragical fault of Macs and OSX? Please help... I'd really love to give Kol a chance to make her mark on Layonara. Thanks for any help!
