Consciousness finally returned to me. I tried to raise from the ground, but, still feeling too weak, slipped and fell back right into the pool of my own blood. I turned on my back and saw Grai, my familiar, still hovering over me. Nearby a pair of gnolls lay dead. Looks like Grai saved my life again and I got lucky. Well, maybe it was hard to call this luck, but at least I was still alive. Now I can sit here at the library and write this. The priest at the temple of Lucinda tended to my wounds and I should recover completely soon. This cannot go on though. Once again I have exhausted my magic and ended up close with a gnoll waving a club. One time I won't be as lucky and will end up dead. Or I will get beaten up so much that no one will even think of calling me beautiful again. I do not want this to happen, do I? Magic is great, but learning to defend yourself would be a good thing too, girl. Especially with your curiosity always leading you to places you should not be in.
