    Personal correspondence of Slate Cranston

*The hardcover book is very thick... it seems to be filled with many letters.  The first one reads:

    To Father and Mother,

The strangest thing happened to me today.  When I woke,  I found myself lying face to the stars in a diffrent town.  It also seems that all of my possesions are gone.  I wonder if this is a test of faith from Toran.  After I explored the area and talking with many people here,  I discovered that I am not the only one that has had this experience.  I also discovered there was a Temple of Toran in the nearby town.  I went there immeadiatly to seek guidance and report myself to the service of the temple.  I pray for you both and my brother Matthew.

      To Father and Mother,

I happy to tell you that I have met many followers of Toran in this new town.  This makes me feel better now that I am amoung my brothers.  There is a meeting scheduled for all Toran followers in a few days.  I am anxious to go and meet them all.  So far I have met an man named Trenton.  He was good enough to guide me with his wisdom.  A man named Quantum who provided me with some potions that will help keep me healthy.  I also plan to speak to Quantum about making potions of my own in the future.  Certainly last but not least a fellow paladin of Toran, Klaug.  He sold me a piece of armor that was already dyed in the colors of Toran.  I am very proud and grateful to wear it.  I hope you are all doing well

        To my brother Matthew,

Im sure mother and father have been telling you of my adventures.  Recently I helped stop an attack on a nearby watch tower from vicious gnolls.  It made me feel good to protect the people once again.  I ask that you do not mention this to mother and father.  I fear it would make them nervous to know I was finding battle so soon in my arivals to this land.  I hope everything is going well for you.  You are all in my prayers everyday.

          To my family,

Im sorry for not writing in so long.  I have much to tell you.  I am enjoying my stay in this new land very much.  Since I have been here,  ive helped so many people.  I feel that Toran would be proud of my service.  I have also gotten better with my fighting skills.  I helped stop a massive gnoll attack.  It seemed that many diffrent clans of gnolls united to attack the people.  They enlisted the help of Griffons to fly them around the area.  They were very vicious fighters but my companions and I fought our way through their war encampment and killed them all.  I hope everyone will be a little more safe from gnolls now.. alteast for a while anyway.

I also met a woman in the town today.  She seeks a half ogre that has committed many horrible crimes.  I intend to tell all my brothers of Toran I see of this half ogre.  I hope that we can find him and capture him.  His fate is not for me to decide though.  The woman wants to have the ogre for herself but that is for the justicers to decide.

Many of my new friends and I like to go to a nearby forest and slay undead.  Its amazing!  The undead in this forest are endless.  You can kill them all and walk through to the other side and they will be back again.  Never the less... the undead deserve no better fate, and it gives me good practice.

I have purchased a candle in the temple for you and it burns strong.  I miss you all very much.  May your faith guide you and keep you healthy.
