Is it me or the rolls have gone insane?

For the past week I have done quite a lot of crafting. But for some seriously odd reason I can not succeed no matter what my success chance is. Sure there have been successes, but compared to the total number of attempts their number was low as hell.

To illustrate what I mean, all of these items had a 75-80% success chance and took a lot of time and effort to gather.

I had gathered 16 malar skins and failed both bags....rolled two 1
I had dug sand for the last four days and I made only 7 or 8 rods, I can't seem to roll anything bigger than a 3.
From those 8 or so rods I failed almost a half while enchanting them
And to top it all I failed an emerald at 80%.....and believe me, it wasn't the first one...or the second...or third...or fourth....it doesn't stop here *curses*

I know that it may be unluck, I know in the end it balances out, but seriosly at 80% one would expect to succeed a bit more often than at every fifth attempt.

Just writing this because I am seriously annoyed...I am beginning to believe the fact that the rolls in NWN are not completly random. Many people have said that before on different NWN forums and heck...I agree.

Ooops!  Sorry.  That was me taking all your good rolls... Didn't mean any harm, I just didn't think you were using them.

In truth, "rolls" in any computer-based environment are not, and cannot be, completely random.  There's this goofy convoluted algorithm which over time produces a sequence of numbers whose statistical distribution reflects a randomized sequence.  However, given the same "seed", this sequence of numbers can, in fact, be repeated in all its pseudo-random glory.

Also, bear in mind that your character likely does not possess a dedicated random number generator of his own, but rather he's sharing that with all other characters who are rolling at the same time on the server.  In other words, your random numbers are simply part of a larger group of random numbers, but you're only seeing a few of them.

Look on the bright side....maybe the universe is saving your good rolls for combat, DC checks and such.

Well, the universe sure isn't saving the good rolls for Michaelis's climbing ability!  It's pretty bad when a fighter/paladin/champion with good strength can't climb up a mole hill and constantly needs a rope (this is without armor or weapons).

  Yeah it can be frustrating, and yeah they often seem to appear in series.  But look at it from the other side as well, as your very good rolls during part 1a of your ECDQ point out. You did not fail a single crucial one then

 It must be payback time now   Actually I did fail one, thank god there was Maddison with a good search roll heh
