Greetings to you all.
Fate has rolled the dice, and sends my boots in your direction. Yesterday, I did not know about you at all, until a player on DDO mentioned you. I did a drive-by here and read a little. My eyes laid rest on the leveling speed. 7th level in a week, I thought. That sounds a little too fast and not really in the spirit of role-play as I have tried it, so I started my boots again and wandered of (used to play on servers where level 7 is not something you see within the first half year). Then the good Wednesday of Bioware was there, and again your server was mention. A coincidence, since I had just been here and that on a site I had no idea existed. So I will have to check this out.
I look forward to see your world, and will start the thought-process for a character here in a moment. Any advices are welcome (especially about druids)
P.S. A question to end with: English is not the language of my father or mother. Will correct spellings and grammar be rewarded? Could be nice to just lean back being judge for the role-play, not by whatever or not the grammars are used correctly

It is true, you can get to level 7 pretty darned fast. But it will probably take you the same amount of time to get to level 9. Then double it to get to 12. Quadruple it to get to 14. In other words, the earlier levels come fast, but things really slow down after that. Consider this, the highest level character on the server now is level 27 out of 40 and has been playing here for over 2 years. So, you certainly don't have to worry about maxing out your character too soon. That's just not going to happen.
There is sound logic, by the way, behind fast leveling up to level 7. It allows players to get to a point with their character where they have some semblance of comfortability, some level of abilty and power, so that they can get out there and mix it up with the monsters or survive one of the many stellar and sometimes dangerous quests we have.
Also, there are many people here for whom English in not their primary language. They flourish as much as anyone else. Nobody will crack down on you for mispellings or anything of the sort. We have a very open, welcoming and considerate player base here.
So, after reading your comments, I suggest you give it a try. I think you'll find it a nice fit.
Welcome to Layonara. Hope to see you in game.

Yeah Rhizome's got it down. Pretty much the only people who are an exception to this trend are people who play for many hours a day. (I know some people who play 8 hours regularly)
Once you get to level 15, which should take you quite a while believe me, your leveling will slow down quite a bit. And to cap it off, this isn't one of those servers where by level 15-20 you can take anything down... we have three servers, and the difficulty level of the creatures on each server gets harder as you go...
West: Best place for levels 1-10 (Not that other people don't hang out there, but if there's a group who's average levels is higher, they might not get a challenge)
Central: 11-19 (Not that some level 20s won't get a challenge, or that a well organized group of level 10s can't make it, just that level range will work best here)
East: 20+ (I suggest staying away from here all together. Some people go here, but you really have to be a dynamic group to make it here.)

Hi:) I have just signed up, and hope that this server is going to be fun:D I am currently reading trough the history and starting to think of a character. I have never really tried a RP heavy server before (not played alot of NWN at all really...:S) but I hope to learn and adapt.
Looking forward to playing =)

I can vouch for that. I have been playing for about 6 weeks now, I would guess an average of 4-6 hours a day. If I remember correctly it took me about a 1-2 weeks to get to level 7, having done two quests in that time. I took me at least another 2 weeks to level again. I must say it get much tougher to level the longer you play and the higher your level is. I have been on my current level so long that I have forgotten about levelling. I have put that now out of my mind and try not to check my level everyday. I rather find good opportunities to RP and enjoy the world like that.
But at least from level 7 I felt comfortable to move around the world and help myself out. But one quickly realise that you are actually still a low level when you venture onto the Central server. Nearly died there the other night.
But good luck and enjoy.
PS The quickest way to level I find is doing quests. Be it the NPC quests or the GM run quests.
