    The Depths of Ra's Journal
    « on: June 11, 2005, 08:27:00 PM »
    You find this strangly blood-stained journal on the corpse of that goblin you just killed. It still has that new leather smells, and on the first page it has this boldened;

Should this journal be found, please place directly behind Hlint's Bind Stone. I only appear there every five minutes.

The first few pages talk of this namesless auther's sentiments over heading out into the world. He repeats these several times, and it gets old fast. Flipping ahead several pages, you get to the first real entry.

    Mar 18, 1385,

It's amazing how quickly this adventuring thing looses it's fun.

'Course, it might just be me, considering I'm up to 30 deaths and about 50 near deaths. That really does a lot to hurt the enjoyment factor.

I don't fight because I 'enjoy' it, or it's 'fun'. Now it's vengance.

I guess I should explain. This cycle started while I was trying to find the blasted weapon shop. I met a man in front of the barracks, who offered me a job as an adventurer, to get five goblin ears.

Goblins! I've heard the stories, they're weak and pathetic. It should be extremely easy.

        I was wrong. Dead wrong.

I went out to the west, scythe in hand, intending to beat up some idiotic goblin scouts. In my explorations of the goblin wastes, I found their camps, and attacked.

I gotta admit. I'm proud I lasted those six seconds.

I was Naive, so I paniced. I thought I was dead, that it was all over, and my tale would end with a couple goblin arrows. I appeared in a large, pitch black, empty area, and paniced again. Then I appeared by the Bind Stone with the absolute WORST headache of my life.

I went north, to explore and vent. I learned two things there, a) Falcons are amazingly strong.I can kill one or two, but they leave some big wounds. b) Orcs live in the forest. Don't believe the stories, they can beat you up even better then a goblin. See above paragraph for what happened next, with a little less panic.

I went east then, hoping for some reprieve from these headaches. An elf kills me with one arrow.

So I'm pretty annoyed at this point, not to mention lost, confused, and remembering last time I was in Hlint.

Going west again, I first head south from there, get killed by a large beetle, leave to the goblin wastes again, and I find some badgers. I moved back and forth for a while killing goblins and badgers, when after escaping some goblins, the badgers are about to kill me.

A wandering mage, (For the life of me I can't remember the name and I deeply apologize.) came and helped me out. He decided to help me out some and show me around down south.

I'm not a hundred percent sure what happened, maybe seeing a mage cast spells helped, or something. I just know that I felt a surge of power rush through me. I didn't know what it was at the time, but later I found out about it. I had pure, raw magic in my very veins.

But now I need a long vacation. My body may be half numb from being hit so many times, but my head is sick of the headaches.

Afterwards, you can't help but wonder if you wasted your time reading this.

//When Ra says long, he means until July 5 real life. I don't remember if there is an inactivity rule, so here's my reason. I'm going to be two days drive away from my house at a three week camp. You'll have to wait that long for the story of his 2nd-3rd level
