*the following letter is addressed to Aeridins Temple, in North Point, Dregar.*
I have reached the town of Hlint after many months of traveling.
Upon arrival it was clear I had my work cut out for me. So many citizens here are in need of aid.
The local undertaker a large orcish man named Erag was having problems with a darksoul in the town’s crypt. Of course I lept into action and took the Lifegivers light deep into the bowels of the town’s crypt. I encountered many skeletons that resisted the great cycle. I had no trouble doing the will of Aeridin and returned them to the cycle. The deeper I went the more I could feel the undead gaining in power as if this darksoul was feeding them with unnatural strength. Zombies and Ghouls all fell at my feet. Finally atop a flight of stairs presiding over a ghoulish horde I saw the darksoul. I gathered all the might I could and confronted the unnatural creature. As it approached the air began to get colder.... as it got closer the very air around me seemed to freeze. The darksoul was quite the challenge but in the end the Great cycle prevailed once more, I gathered the essence of the creature and presented it to Erag.
I have learned a great deal already but I know I have much to learn.
I shall write again when I have more news of importance.
May Aeridins light shine in you always.

*A Letter to Areidins temple in North Point, Dregar*
I have meet some wonderful people today. The High Druid of the Seilwood Forest, Rhizome, and his close friend, and I beleive more Amelia. Both are fellow servants of Aeridin, and I was honered to have met with both of them. I told them of my mission, to bring Aeridins light into the darkenss and put an end to all whom oppose the great cycle. They spoke to me of a crypt in a town called Krandor. They said it was overrun with undead when they began to tell me of what lie within' the crypt I was stunned. Skelletons that were flaming bones and some which were so decayed they actually dripped acid from there hands. I feared I was not powerfull enough to attempt to enter such a place. Both Ameila and Rhizome offered to go there with me.
Upon entering the town I saw a small girl sobbing near the cemetary. Her name was Nikki and she told me she was deep in the crypts carrying her grandfathers ashes when she was attacked by undead... luckily she escaped but she dropped her grandfathers ashes. She asked me if I could retrieve them for her and I said I would do all I could to get them back to her. The three of us prepared and entered the crypt. Almost immediatly we were attacked by a swarm of undead, indeed skelletons both acidic and burning. Their very touch could burn your severly if not protected. Rhizome was truly an amazing sight to see in action. The undead fell before him with ease. Deeper we ventured and after some time we did indeed find the ashes Nikki dropped. I picked them up and we were about to leave when from no where a huge Golem appeared. It traveled deeper into the crypt... Rhizome seemed very concerend about this and we decided to follow. Once we reached the botom of the crypt the we found the golum and it attacked us. Though even it was no match for Rhizome and it was destroyed. Rhizome seemed to think Eon was behind it all but we never found more on the matter.
I presented Nikki with her Grandfather's ashes and asked that she never go in those crypts alone again.
With out the help of Amelia and Rhizome, that crypt might have been my final resting place. I was fortunate to have met them that day, and I eagerly await the next time our paths meet.
May Aeridins light shine in you always.

*Letter to Aeridins Temple in North Point, Dregar*
The Broken Forest, a wooded area near Ft. Hope. These woods have a most unusual taint to them. I will tell you of the first time I entered these woods. I was accompanied by a rather peppy gnome, her name was Bimpo... I tell you she never stood still... If ever there was such a thing as a perpetual motion machine, she was indeed it. But she is a very nice person, a true heart of gold. Bimpo and I entered the woods and after vanquishing some shades... a vampire came from nowhere and began to taunt the two of us. I used all the divine might I had and turned his advances away from me, after some time we were met by a man named Scherzo. He was a cleric, this I knew though I never did find out whom he served. As we talked in the woods we were again attacked by a swarm of shades and this vampire... In the chaos of it all I fell to the ground... Fortunately Aeridin was looking down on me and I was sent to Hlint where I gathered myself and rushed back to the forest to see what had happened to Bimpo and Sherzo.
As I reached the forest entrance Bimpo and Sherzo emerged. Scherzo said the Vampire was killed. I quickly asked him it he drove a wooden spike thru it's heart... No he said.... I asked if he removed its head and stuffed it's mouth with Holy Wafers... No he said.... I told him that the Vampire then was not dead.... to which I think he took offense and said those were wives tales. I was not about to argue with him for I knew the truth having vanquished Vampires in Aeridins service before. Scherzo left, obviously put out at my words. Though I had little time to sugar coat the truth that the vampire was most certainly still alive.
Bimpo and I entered the woods...I saw a bat fly off and was pretty sure it was the vampire. We were then confronted by three men looking for a missing farmer from Near Ft. Hope.... We asked them to describe the man. After listening to them describe the farmer it was clear to both Bimpo and I they were describing the Vampire we had confronted earlier. We did not lie to them and told them strait forward that we believed the farmer had been turned into a Vampire. We asked them to go back to Ft. Hope and wait for us to investigate further, for the woods were not safe and night was approaching rapidly. Seemingly from nowhere a woodsman and his wolf appeared. The man said his name was Cole. He asked if we needed aid and we told him of what had transpired. With his help we gathered a branch of oak and he formed a sharp point to it. We traveled cautiously thru the woods in the direction I saw the bat flee. We came upon a sarcophagus and there stood the vampire. Somehow he seemed stronger than when we faced him before. After a brief exchange of words he attacked us. Cole and his wolf were the turning point for our side and the vampire fell at Cole’s feet. I rushed to the vampire and quickly thrust the hand make oak spike down thru his heart. Before our eyes we saw the Vampire begin to change back into the farmer and then he turned to dust and was gone.
With heavy hearts we started towards Ft. Hope. Nearly there we were attacked by another vampire. "You have thwarted my plans for now Cleric!" she said looking at me with hollow black eyes, and she said I would pay the ultimate price for it as well. We chassed after her but she transformed into a bat and few up into the canopy of trees and was gone. We made it to Ft. Hope and delivered the news of the Farmers fate to the local men. They told us he was leaving behind a wife and child and farms that would need tended. We offered them a large sum of coin and asked that it be given to the farmers family with our sympathy.
Truly Areidins work was done this day. But we all left with mixed emotions on what had transpired.
May Aeridins light shine in you always.

*Letter to Aeridins Temple in North Point, Dregar*
Today I met an elf that has left a lasting impression on me. Ellendil, a servant of The Longstrider, Folian S'pae. As we talked I learned he shares many of the same goals as I... first and foremost for him is removing the undead from all the forests. I traveled with him and a group of others to the Broken Forest. We dispatched all the undead in those woods once more. Shiani, a halfling cleric of the Great Gold had asked us all to travel with her to the Dragon Isles. Unfortunalty we were not prepared for what was waitng for us on those isles. All of us but Ellendil fell to a horde of fungi that attacked us with ruthless abandon. Ellendil raised Shiani and another Yashilla and then they helped bring the rest back. We all were very drained from the experience and we turned back right their and all agreed not to return until out powers had increased. Some swore they never would return. I can't say as I blame them. Those isles seem to be very deadly.
As we parted ways in Valensk, Ellendil and I talked a while and we both said we looked forward to seeing each other again. We even talked about venturing to the Dire Woods together. I hope that day is soon.

*Letter to Aeridins Temple in North Point, Dregar*
Today started off as any other day. I had met a group of adventurers and helped them to collect some minerals. As we talked near Ft. Valensk and the Dire Woods a man came along. The others in the group knew him and addressed him as "Father". I noticed before he even reached us that his sheild shared the same symbol as my own. He too was a follower of the lifegiver. He introduced himself to me as Father Maylin. He joined us and we proceeded into the nearby cave searching for topaz. Well, we found the topaz... unfortunatly we also found a clan of ogres in the cave who were not at all happy with our presence. In the heat of the moment as we were leaving Father Maylin had fallen when he was over run by ogres. It was clear that his cycle was not yet complete and by Areidins grace he returned to us again.
After we left the cave we went South into the Dire Woods. This forest has many undead who roam within it's boundaries. I do not know the history of those woods but judging from all the Alips, Wraiths, Spectres and shades, and the constant screems that seem to come from nowhere and everywhere. I think something happended in these woods long ago.... perhaps a battle or a massacre. Some how these undead are all that remains.... cursed to walk the woods for eternity, unable to complete the great cycle.
My new traveling companions and I prepared ourselves and entered the woods.... the number of spectres were more than I had ever seen. But I felt in inner strength rise up within me, myself and the others put every last one of them to rest. Sadly though, Dyness a very nice Druidess of Katia had fallen to the draining touch of the spectres. She too however would be returned to us.
As we exited the woods and spoke about what happened... I began to feel a sensation I had never felt before... at least not this powerfull. I felt warm and at peace. As I looked around me I noticed the others were shading their eyes when looking at me... it was a few hours after sun up and yet I was giving off enough light that it was hard on their eyes. The suddenly a burst of light came down from above and surrounded me. When our eyes refocused there in front of us stood a winged messenger of Areidin. She told me to kneel before her. As she put her hands on me and said a few words I could feel a new power take hold inside me. It was time that I started down a new path. A path that was more direct in bringing the lifegivers light into the darkenss and focusing my powers on the undead who resist the great cycle.
With my new found power and understanding. I shall do everything I can to bring the light into all the dark places of these lands.
May the lifegivers light shine in you always.

*Letter to Aeridins Temple in North Point, Dregar*
It has been a long time since my last letter. I have found it difficult to delve into other places I hear about that hold the undead. Perhaps it is time I stop trying to walk this path alone and seek others who will aid me in returning the undead to the Great Cycle.
Surely there are others out there who put facing undead ahead of killing giants, goblins and animals by the ton.
May the Livegivers light shine in you always

*she sighs as she seals the letter and gives it to Post Master Vale*
*as she turns to walk away she whispers under her breath*
Perhaps it is time I seek out my Brother and Sister
