Has alot ever happened since my last letter.

It looks like the guild is safe for now. Sal has some problems like usual (not much I can do there). The big thing is I helped defeat a huge Black Dragon. It was intent on stopping our group on it's task to free the Lumbral. I also got me arse handed to me by Milara. That was not fun. We did free the lumbral, Milara did not get what he wanted..we think.

I'm worried about Warlord Varka. I think Milara did something to him after he fell. I'm not sure how to deal with it. I will seek some advice.

I've also found a dwarf whose spirit was enslaved in a construct. His name was Gilderad. He made the construct for a mage. A realy stupid mage named Remus. I'm not sure on the details but Remus is now dead and Gilderad is free to roam the halls of Dorand. I took the head of the construct and brought it to the temple of Dorand. I felt they should know of the story and have the head.

I'm just about to start my own plans that we have talked about. I just need to wrap up a few loose ends and I'll be able to apply my full attention to it.

Dad,

It seems that Varka is fine. I found out that a friend of mine Godim is dead. He helped me out in many ways. He was apart of the Explorers with me. I have started a race in his name. The Explorers have put up a large sum of money for the race 90,000 true so far. I believe we will have a large turn out. The winners will receive the Godim cup and the money to split.

I hope things at home are going ok. Let me know if you need any help.

Dad,

Well..I do not know how to say this. Warlord Varka is gone. He sacrificed himself for the gate. He will forever be remembered.

Just to give you some info. We were asked by King Rory to find the Triqueta of the gates. It seems that it went missing long ago. It seems a Newphew of the king took it into the catacombs never to be seen again.  The Triqueta be the three mithril keys to Bloody gate fused together, blessed by Battle Father Korarch Storchands and hung over the throne of the king as a reminder to the King of his duty "The truth of Vorax"

We went into the catacombs below Bloody Gate to find it. After battling many  Bats, giants, spiders, rats and ants we got to a statue of a dwarf with a blue crystal floating in front of it. Upon some searching we found a scroll that said.

I held it against the enemies of ours
I held it against the loss of all
I held them in the name of the gate
I held them in the name of Vorax
I held them until strength would return
That is what I told myself
Vain was I, to vain to care
In my pride I know my curse
It will pass on to you who take this burden,
but there can be no other way.
The price of past pride must be paid

Varka took it upon himself to pay the price that needed to be paid. He passed on some sentimental items to those of us in the group, along with some encouraging words. Once we said our good byes he took a hold of the crystal.

What happened next happened all at once. The statue turned into a real dwarf and then the dwarf faded out of existance. The blue crystal broke revealing the Triqueta of the Gates, with the Triqueta falling to the ground. Varka turned into a stone statue. After all of this was complete a new red crystal formed in front of Varka.

We proceeded to carry Varka back to Bloody Gate. All of us carried him. The journey was slow and sombre. It took us one week to get to where we found the Triqueta. We took 3 weeks to get back.

Upon return King Rory was both happy and sad to see us. Happy to see the Triqueta, sad to see Varka the way he was. He proclaimed the day to be a holiday in memory of Varka and the return of the Triqueta.

Now remember the only way into the gate is through the King.

My dearest Love,

I'm sorry for leaving you the way I did. It's just that I did not want to see that look on your face as I leave. Don't say "what look", you know the one I'm talking about. I'll be back soon, that I can almost guarantee. That nagging feeling that I had about the soul mother has gone.

I told my dad and brothers to take it easy on you while I'm gone. If you have any problems with them don't argue or give Ronus another black eye. Save it for me and I'll deal with it when I get back.

Love Beli

My dearest Love,

I just had to write you as soon as it happened. We did it! We were able to make enchanted dwarven runes. Needless to say it is like the silver enchantments that I make but better, they use runes instead. I'll give you the details when I see you next.

I hope to be home in time for our celebrations. I'll be leaving to see you as soon as the party here is over.

Summary of what has happened to Beli and his family.

He has gotten married to Vensa who has given him eight children, 6 sons and 2 girls. Their names in order of birth are Varka (named after the warlord and friend), Vensa, Bauk, Paanka, Hilda, Kehlm, Dright and Beli Jr.

He has hired 4 nannies to help Vensa. He started with two but they took a fancy to Beli's two brothers and got married to them. The family mine now looks more like a nursery then a mine. Semli and Ronus have taken to working the mine more now that they have "real" responsibilities.
