    Lotharian's Writings

*A slightly tattered and water-stained, navy-blue book. On the cover, etched in elaborate detail is the symbol of Shindaleria, the Mother Ocean. The first page is blank, the next having what appears to be a journal entry, written in a beautiful, Elven font.*

A day of parting and sadness for many of us. Captain Falian’s ship is docked, the flag has been lowered and it is never to be sailed again. It is hard to feel too sad, as Falian himself shows no regret and has enjoyed a long and prosperous life. We all shared drinks and a night of good memories. As we started parting and saying our last goodbyes, Falian gave me this journal to record my adventurers and thoughts. He said, “Keep em’ detailed, lad, for one day ye are gonna have to tell me everytin ye been through since ye departed me company. Whether, it be on tis plane or in te life after, ye better have one heck of a story te tell!”

The crew parts that evening, all going there separate ways. A few offer to take me along, but I believe I have to find my own way. Their company would be welcome, but another chapter is opening in my life, even if I don’t know where I am going or what will happen.

It is now morning the after. Serene and peaceful, the waves gently lapping at the shore…and I have no idea what I am going to do. There are no boats or ships around where I can get employment or feed my need for adventure. It’s the quieter part of the year, with not many ships coming in or leaving this smaller port. I may have to wait around for weeks at this rate to find any ship to get away. Hard to write about any adventure if there is none to be found or you can’t get to any.  I’ll keep my eyes open and we’ll see if anything happens…
