A red leather journal, almost twice the normal size, lies before you etched with a scene of a massive dragon destroying a village. The artwork on the outside of the book is masterful, while the writing on the inside crude and unorganized to the point of being impossible to read.
(OOC: While Bakee’s lack of a formal education would make her writing impossible to decipher, I will spare you the pain and write the journal normal. This is exactly how Bakee sees the book when she read it and the writings make perfect sense to her.)

My name is Bakee Bauka. I am from a small clan of giants that resided in the snow covered mountains of the Barbarian Islands. Growing up I never knew of my parents, nor would anyone tell me. I was raised by my adopted father, Ulgar the Vile. Ulgar was a giant feared by most of the clan and hated by the rest. Ulgar was a teacher and cleric of the ways of Pyrtechon. Many believed Ulgar slaughtered my parents and took me as his prize to raise and shape into what he wanted me to be, the right hand of The Raging One, or better known as The Destroyer. Ulgar made sure the village warriors trained me to use a greatsword and the art of battle.
As a child I never fully agreed with Ulgar, but I did share a lot of his same passions. Ulgar hated the weakness of the clan and their laziness as did I. Ulgar taught me that those who stand by idle, rather than prepare for war will be the first perish. As a child I only knew what Ulgar taught me. I became overwhelmed with the power Ulgar wielded in the name of The Destroyer. I watched Ulgar bring back life, only to destroy it again in rituals of power and destruction. It was during one of these rituals that the village was attacked by elves and humans. As Ulgar had foreseen, the villagers were unprepared and due to their laziness they were overwhelmed. Those that did not flee in time were slaughtered. The laziness of the village and lack of preparing for an attack was their downfall. The fools truly believed if they worked off the land and left the elves and humans alone, they would be safe and live in peace.
Unlike the village, Ulgar was prepared and with me by his side we slaughtered a great deal of the attackers before Ulgar commanded me to flee. Ulgar believed it was his time and not mine. I hate Ulgar for making me run, but I will deal with that when I see him again. Because Ulgar’s faith in The Destroyer and his belief in me becoming something more, I fled the village and headed to Mistone. Under the guise of a mercenary I set out to learn the ways of the humans and other races. Because of my halfgiant strength and size it has never been hard to find work or be left alone when I want to be.
It wasn’t long before I found some like minds. The first is a strange Drow that goes by the name Daralith. This Drow has taught me a great deal and in return I have placed my blade at his side. There have been others that interest me, especially the followers of Corath. I have spent a great deal of time learning their ways and beliefs under the guile of stupidity. The witch known as Chanda is one to be feared and respected. I would not dare go against that one until I was in position to cleave her skull in half.
For now I will remain with the Drow and learn all I can from him and the others we travel with.
