About DM and GM capabilities
« on: February 10, 2007, 02:00:16 PM »
I'm curious as to the maximum number of creatures/NPCs one DM/GM can control at one time.  I had an idea in mind for a CDQ but it would require a DM to be able to control (or at least keep from slaughtering everything) a number of normally hostile NPC/Creatures.

The DM can disable the AI for the monsters so they won't slaughter you. :)

Otherwise, they can only control one creature at a time.

Define control. You can possess only one at a time, however, you can also group select creatures and make them move and attack (like an  RTS grou of units).

Well... you both kinda answered the question.  I was curious if you could "spawn" a group of beasties, but keep them from killing people, yet at the same time make them move all together and such

Sure.

You could also just make them non-hostile.
