Where is G ?

Hi y'all I finally dowloaded the V3 stuff and took a look around. Looks nice what I saw....and we finally have some actuall GREEN dye for clothes!!! (that only took like 3 years LOL).


I've kind of had a fade away from Layo for various reasons (as anyof you who cared probably noticed already).

I want to say up front that I am not here to put in a flame post before I leave or any cr@p like that!  (I hate those posts). Because I am not really leaving Layo... I dont ever see that happening. But I am not going to be here near as much as I was in the past.


I love this place... it was my first time Roleplaying. I've spend nights at my PC so into my character(s) that I was in tears.... hands shaking so bad I couldnt type because of the intense RP that was taking place. When Enzo's son was born I had to take about a 15 minute break and compose myself. It was just ... I cant even describe it... it was just such a moving thing. That is what had me hooked since October 2003... the intense feelings I got thru RP'ing here.


I have DM'd here and spent a good amount of time on the content teams... which I really did enjoy!


But the overall gameplay (level progression etc...) and craftng has lost it's luster for me, my playstyle, and the amount of time RL allows me to be at my PC.

I have found another game that is satisfying my playstyle, and the crafting is great.

But.... the RP is non existant!!! I miss RP and it is the RP that WILL bring me back to Layo from time to time.


Anyway.... as Paul Harvey likes to say.... and that's the rest of the story.



Thanks everyone who has given me a chance with this world.... Especially Leanthar. Ive always played you strait and you've always given me respect and I admire that more than I can put into words here.

Bring your past stories to the Shack! You have so much to offer that you can't possibly deprive the community from it.
 
 It was good to see Enzo in the player list again the other night. If you ever need another ranger to go out a die with, send a shout out to Rodlin. Heck, for that matter, it doesn't take much, find any ranger. They all die quick enough.
 
 Will be watching the calendar for Enzo's Story Time.

Pity you will not be around much, I really enjoyed the moments of RP with Enzo. In Jacc's mind you will always be the "father" of the rangers of Layo. Enzo will be missed for sure.
 
 But good luck out there and hopefully we will see you around from time to time.

Wow summer is almost gone?  Where does time go!?

I have been checking out the forums from time to time (I know I'm a troll right? LOL).

All I can say is wow... things sure did get messy huh?

To Leanthar and all who are continuing to improve this world, I wish you all the best of luck! 99% of the time its a thankless job, even a job you get complained at for doing (as many are taking pot shots from the balcony these days).

As I said in my first post Layonara and I just fadded apart, I don't even know the names of any place anymore. It just isnt "my world" anymore. I dont mean that to be a complaint, its more a statement or oppinion?

Why do I feel that it isnt "my world"? Because the level of what I wanted out of Layonara in RP, adventuring, questing, RP'ing, and crafting I can no longer do with the amount of time I have to be at my PC.


And to those who are taking those pot shots from the balcony.... please stop. This is Leanthars' world and it will constantly be changing (improving) as he and those who work for (with) him see fit. You may not always agree with those changes, but no matter how many flame threads and pot shots you take at him, or his staff... those changes will go thru all the same.

I know I was guilty many times of saying I wish things were as they were "X amount of time ago".... but as I really sit down and look at the situation.... it is me who changed (in my amount of play time or lack there of) and not so much the changes to the world..... back in '03 and '04 I know I played probably 8+ hours a day every day some days more! Being in the world that much it was easy to become a part of it.... but as my kids got older and my play time shrank... It was increasingly more difficult for me to stay "in the loop" on events in the world.... that lead to me feeling upset and honestly.... angry... at first I was angry at the world for "moving on without me". But looking back I can see that was very selfish of me to think that way and I now see it correctly. The world kept moving at its stady pace, it was me who wasn't able to keep up do to RL. Finally it came to a point that I jsut couldnt do it anymore and I just vanished from Layo.

As stated in my 1st post I have moved on to a new game (which I am still playing). But you can search up and down, far and wide and you won't see find a thread of me trying to recruit others to come join me. That IS NOT the right thing to do here!


I will leave you with a quote of mine from early early on when I was playing Layo...

"If it isn't fun, don't play."

For those of you who stay and keep working on making this place better... I salute you and with a little luck our paths might cross again in the future.

I can totally relate there G. Don't have any regrets about it as I'm sure you don't. RL is always first.  Games are always near last.  Just no time anymore.  Anyway, always good to hear from you! Thanks for popping in!

Summer is gone and my girls are back to school (1st & 3rd grade).

Oh and, Mr. Mom went back to work! (construction).

8.5 years as Mr. Mom has taken its toll on me LOL.

I've been pretty tired each night, but its getting better since the heat has gone down.
