Mysterious Teleport

Yesterday, 01.09.2008 at about 9.00 PM(GMT), i encountered a unexpected server-downtime for about 2 minutes. After that, my character Fianon found himself not in the Hempstead fields, but in Haven, where he´s never been before. Since he´s a ranger, i decided to roleplay the situation and make my way home by myself. Went through Spellguard, ended in the Spirit Desert(Spirit Dunes?) and died there, together with my loyal oxen. Do those teleports happen once in a while or was it just a very rare accident?

This is something that "never" happen.
 
 What I can tell you is that if the server went down for some reason and you came back you would be at your last resting place and not necesary where you were when the server went down.
 
 Cannot explain how you got to Haven if you never have been there before and would leave that to someone else to explain.
 
 But teleports is not something that happens as a rule or even ever.

Might be attributable to lag, knocking you by sheer chance along the wrong AT... But I'll definitely concur that this sort of thing is virtually unheard of; the most you'll usually see, and even this is rare, is being jumped across an area.

In the future, should something like that happen, trying pinging the DM channel, to see if someone is out there to help. If not, don't hesitate to post in the forums and ask for help, so maybe you won't die in the desert, heh.

If we don't just port you to somewhere your character knows, we'll come up with something creative, like asking another player who knows the ropes to help you out through in-character interaction.
