    The Path of Angus Raspwood
    « on: June 17, 2005, 12:03:00 PM »
The dragon, that is what I most remember from the dream, also vague notions of a calling to aid.  Toran has surely tested me since I left the seminary.  I have been plucked from my travels and set anew in Hlint with nothing but a few gold and some basic equipment.  The saving grace is that the area is vaguely familiar in some long lost way, I think my parent's home was near here... but that was a different life and before Toran's grace entered my soul.  I now am destined to walk this path and work my faith forward.  Without my Ankh I find it difficult to focus my most ardent prayers, but still I move forward, helping those I can and doing what I must.

I have endeavoured to push myself in Hlint and with some success have grown a few steps closer to Toran.  The encounters with goblins and rats though menial were none the less trying tests of my faith, fortunatly Toran sent me allies to help in times of trouble and aid when the darkness closed in.

The cemetary of this town stinks of the undead.  I have made preliminary excursions into the crypts to find them crawling with unsettled abominations.  The crypts themselves are easily dispatched by the power of my faith in Toran, but I fear those I hear below will not so easily fall to my faith.

The Undertaker told me of a dark soul in the bowels of the cemetary's crypts.  I ventured deep into the crypt with only my faith as a guide, along the way Toran sent me two allies to aid in the clensing of the tombs.  Though their faiths differ from mine, I have no doubt Toran meant for them to aid me.  Together we destroyed the dark soul and returned the vile essence to the Undertaker.  For what purpose he needs the essence I do not know, but its very presence is an affront to me.

I feel it comes time for me to take my leave of Hlint and move on.  I must find a temple to Toran soon, I feel that I have not not touched the presence of my god in too long.

My first trip away from my new home of Hlint was cut short by an ambush of elves and halflings.  The mercenaries trapped me in a magical web before I could call aid to my side.  I prayed to Toran upon my return for the aid of someone in my time of need, to my suprise my prayer was answered by a good, if slow-witted, half-ogre.  It is amazing how diverse the touch of Toran can be on this world.

Toran has touched me during my meditations.  He feels my desire to rid the world of the undead and is pleased with my faith.  To test that faith he has set a task upon me.  I am to remain in Hlint, until such time as I can face the crypt alone.  When my faith is strong enough to decend into the depths of this minor purgatory and return alone I shall truely be ready to seek my destiny in the service of Toran.

I shall have to pray for Toran's strength and aid in this task.
