Mystery minerals

I was wondering how the system works for mystery minerals.  When does the system determine what it is?  Is it right when you put it in the basin?  What is the distribution (you know what are the odds of getting the various minerals)?  I understand if this is restricted information but if it's not it would be interesting to know.  I don't see how this could be exploited in any way.  Thanks.

Once you add a MM and close the window it then rolls to determine what the MM is.

Also, if you put in one or 36 of them... it will re roll for each one.


I dont know if the Odds of getting "X" mineral back are public knowledge...

Orth and crew can answer that one.
