Well… here I am on Mistone. I’m glad that I followed Shelu’s example to get away from the family on Voltrex. At least now I can practice and learn the arcane arts without being nagged to pray and “when are you going to commit yourself to serving Lord Aeridin and become a cleric?” None of that here, not even from Shelu! Not that I have anything against religion, it’s just not the path I want to travel.
However, I am glad that I learnt about the movement of the Moons and the Sun from the high priests and priestesses in the Temple of Aeridin. I find astrology and star charts most fascinating.
Shelu seems well and I’ve met a couple of her friends. They seem very nice. One wood-elf called Ravenne taught me to fish. I'm very happy about that because I can spend hours just staring into the water thinking. Well she taught me to fish using a bow and special arrows, but I still enjoy staring into the water.
Hmm, I heard that Shelu is involved with a human male. Interesting, I haven’t met him yet. I’m still getting used to seeing humans and other races. I also met a cleric called Armin in the crypts. He helped me to collect some gold to buy a spell. Spells are expensive and I’ve been spending much time collecting components, but that’s one way of getting to know the place.
Unfortunately Shelu felt a homesick after I met up with her and her mother’s birthday didn’t help either. Oh she’s so sensitive, but she seemed okay the last time I saw her. She hasn’t mentioned her sister Shezz since I’ve seen her. Shezz was very concerned when Shelu left. It seemed strange that Shelu didn’t even tell her twin sister about her leaving, maybe she didn’t want Shezz to try and stop her.
Enough of such family concerns. I hope to learn much more of this place in the future and to grow as a mage.
