Stump,
I wish that you wouldn't use your full name, you are much smarter than you realize. Are you sure we can't find a more suitible name for you? I am glad that the divination worked and that you have picked up Shadowfall's trail. The presence of the dragon proves my hunch, I am eager for your voice and your message. I am sure your grandmother is seeking Shadowfall as well, so following his trail should bring your paths together. I will keep researching this halfling J’zallyaka. Stay safe, write soon and know that I am praying for you.
With trust in Knowlege,
Theolas, Humble Servant of Aragen

Dear Stump,
I hope The Great Book continues to unfold favorably before you. I have word that a one legged Halfling lead a small party into the hellish land of Xantril. I will follow up to find out the name of this Halfling, but even if it is J’zallyaka it will be nearly impossible for you to seek him there. We can hope that his trespassing in demon lands has brought him his just reward. Walk proud.

Master Stump,
You have nothing to be sorry about. I have known many followers of Mist and they are an honorable and noble lot. I do not expect you to follow Aragen, I expect you to follow your path. I am excited that you have found a place for sanctuary and guidance, a place where your unique talents are encouraged instead of ridiculed. Seek your truth, my friend, may the fury of the tempest bless you.
In Truth,
Theolas, humble servant of Aragen

Stump,
The blessing of the tempest is on you for sure!
I am sorry that the turns of the world have denied you what you sought with Shadowfall. Please be careful about relieving yourself on the graves of the deceased. I was able to track down information on Shadowfall’s demise that you may want to know. It seems that a brother and sister of the gnome you killed tracked him down and demanded your head and Shadowfall sent them to J’zallyaka. J’zallyaka met them with hostility and anger, a battle ensued, the brother was incinerated. The sister – Sasha Twinklestar – who is either a trained assassin or an eccentric rogue, came back to Hlint nursing a very serious grudge against Shadowfall. It is told that in the middle of the night, she came and took his head – the body in the grave has no head. She seeks you, so watch your back around gnomes. I wish you continued success on your journey.

*page from a journal, the handwriting is elegant and almost feminine, the date is smudged and illegible*
Aragen's blessing is upon me today! The big mute halfgiant appeared at my door after an extended absence. How this meek creature has changed! Head to toe blue armor, a shield with a Mist emblem and a massive spiked flail at his side. A true and confindent warrior has replaced the beaten down slave. He seemed to be relaxed and excited to converse, as it is he has yet to find somebody who is fluent in the common sign language we taught him here. He told me of the friends he met, a halforc named Honora who wades into battle with her bare hands, a pirate named Rakish who has decided to plunder the entire continent it seems, a music man name Freldo who turns invisible at the first sniff of battle, a tiefling name Jareg who seems bent on leading people to die in exotic places.... so many I can only begin to commit them to my journal. He also told me of many adventures, mostly battling ogres and undead. Recently he joined and army and spent time defending Fort Hope against an invasion of Satyrs. Despite his struggle with communication, the community seems to value him. He told me of how when comrades fall, he gets bird messangers from the rescue party requesting his assitance. Instead of the towering violent hulk I predicted he would become, I find him to have worked hard to sharpen his mind. We talked about finding his grandmother and he is eager to get on the quest, convinced that finding his grandmother is tied into his becoming a cleric of Mist. A cleric! I thought I had unleashed a violent and unpredictable storm who would leave a path of destruction seeking revenge, instead I find a gentle warrior who thinks that the storms of rage that afflict his mind are about him being called to service a higher power. I am convinced that when I stop listening to the twinges of doubt in my mind and follow the directions of Aragen, that I am better off. To think I almost left the gentle giant to die. I look forward to him finding his granmother.
* the entry seems to continue for a couple more pages, rambling discussions about church affairs and new knowlege discovered*
