Dad,
Well..I do not know how to say this. Warlord Varka is gone. He sacrificed himself for the gate. He will forever be remembered.
Just to give you some info. We were asked by King Rory to find the Triqueta of the gates. It seems that it went missing long ago. It seems a Newphew of the king took it into the catacombs never to be seen again. The Triqueta be the three mithril keys to Bloody gate fused together, blessed by Battle Father Korarch Storchands and hung over the throne of the king as a reminder to the King of his duty "The truth of Vorax"
We went into the catacombs below Bloody Gate to find it. After battling many Bats, giants, spiders, rats and ants we got to a statue of a dwarf with a blue crystal floating in front of it. Upon some searching we found a scroll that said.
I held it against the enemies of ours
I held it against the loss of all
I held them in the name of the gate
I held them in the name of Vorax
I held them until strength would return
That is what I told myself
Vain was I, to vain to care
In my pride I know my curse
It will pass on to you who take this burden,
but there can be no other way.
The price of past pride must be paid

Varka took it upon himself to pay the price that needed to be paid. He passed on some sentimental items to those of us in the group, along with some encouraging words. Once we said our good byes he took a hold of the crystal.
What happened next happened all at once. The statue turned into a real dwarf and then the dwarf faded out of existance. The blue crystal broke revealing the Triqueta of the Gates, with the Triqueta falling to the ground. Varka turned into a stone statue. After all of this was complete a new red crystal formed in front of Varka.
We proceeded to carry Varka back to Bloody Gate. All of us carried him. The journey was slow and sombre. It took us one week to get to where we found the Triqueta. We took 3 weeks to get back.
Upon return King Rory was both happy and sad to see us. Happy to see the Triqueta, sad to see Varka the way he was. He proclaimed the day to be a holiday in memory of Varka and the return of the Triqueta.
Now remember the only way into the gate is through the King.
