    Oak Hunter long bow
    « on: May 25, 2006, 07:31:43 PM »
Just bought one of these fine bows(Oak Longbow of the Hunter) From Orc Bashers and it appeared to be useable/ states level 9, elf or martial, ranger or elf. I am at level 9 have martial and am a level three ranger and level 6 fighter. Do the levels have to be 9 ranger levels? Can you be an Elf and use it even if not a 9 level ranger or what the heck does it take to use this thing?
Other wise i have a new Bow for sale.

oh, unless this is a very very old one, theres a bug with the new ones.

Elf and Ranger doesn't mean Elf or Ranger it means both.  This was fixed a long time ago by changing it to just ranger.  So either this is a really really really old bow or the old bug got put back in when the hunter bows were improved.

Anything I can do? Besides let someone else use it? Or sell it. Plus I was told i paid too much for it anyway. 8000 grand vs 5100 on the lens. Old or new that's a hefty price tag.

One thing you can try is the ox pack technique
First take a screenshot of the bow in you inventory with the name highlighted ... this is proof of ownership along with the confirmation of the Basher that sold it to you.
Next place the bow in an ox pack, close, load and unload and have a look at the bow. Since the "hunter" addition is not an enchantment per se but a recipe it may revert the bow to the newer one if this is a really old bow. Disclaimer - it could eat it too --
If you get the right bow back - great !
If it gets eaten or is still the same , post in grievances and disputes, you'll have the information from the screenshot to make your claim go faster.
As for the price... the lens is a guide only.. some things it prices too high and others far too low. The price you paid is fair for a bow you'll get a lot of use out of. IMO of course.
