Dear Players Of Layo

I have had an interesting Idea in my exam hall, say that it was your birthday in RL, you could make a character with the same birthday, so then you can celebrate your own birthday and your own birthday in character, say by having a few drinks in the tavern or something, forgive me if this is aload of rubbish and of course it is up to Leanthar but I thought that my idea could work not just for me, but every Layo character. If it is a birthday of course it is up to Leanthar but how about we put it in the special events section in the forums, though not sure how it would fit in with the different time zones in game and out of game and such but an Interesting Idea. Let me hear what you think, this idea may have come about already but hopefully not,

A good idea but I think there might be too many players to do that. Besides in game one char has 15 birthdays when you've had one in RL.

well maybe just one of those we have a birthday as a special one and you add your birthday yourself and advertise it in the Tavern section?....

Even so, the other objection makes sense - there are several hundred (hypothetically) active players, so the "special days" would be practically EVERY day.  Besides which, as lovely as Layo is, most people will probably be elsewhere celebrating their birthdays.

well if it should end like that, bugger! It isnt long ago I hit 18!

Anyway, I think the players would be welcome to advertise the birthday of another in the calender and make something for their friends, yet I think the celebreted would be, as said before, elsewhere.

Hey, the only reason I wasn't here on my birthday (May 16th) was because my dogs got into a fight.

Otherwise, I'd have gamed my little heart out.

You can decide your character's birthday is on X game day and hold a party whether or not it coincides with your RL birthday.

In fact, you can hold a party 15 times a year for every birthday of your character.

In fact, you can advertise and hold a party however often you want for no reason at all!  If you can get people to show up and drink a few ales and have an RP party atmosphere going on, more power to you!

Xeenites especially need no excuse at all to hold a party.  They have even been known to hold parties in honour of the really great party they had last weekend.

Xeenite 2:  My god!  You're right!  *turns, smashes the glass covering, and hits the "emergency party" button.  Doors flip open, and partygoers flood in, wine pours from all the taps, and music starts coming from the gnomish jukebox, even as magical fireworks light up the sky with the words "Happy Tuesday!"*

Now THERE are some people who could really get into an unbirthday party.

heh heh reminds me of the rabbit and that clock guy in Alice in Wonderland, who celebrates that they dont have birthday, everyday (except when they have birthday I guess)
