The Situation is Desperate
« on: November 04, 2006, 09:12:13 AM »
*You hear the pounding of horse hooves long before you see her. Her horse is obviously stretched out to it's limits, sweat streaming down its flanks. Maev sits astride the horse looking furious, exhausted and dirty from a long hard ride. She crashes through the main gates of Hlint and almost tramples a haflling as she and the horse scamper up the platform outside the inn.*

Everyone listen to me and hear me now! Toran has sent me with grave news!  I have come from Hurm and have talked thru a makeshift gate to our friends who remain sealed in the dying city.

*Her voices catches in her throat and you see now that she has been crying*

I have spoken to Quantum, he himself seems to be suffering from the sickness. Food, water and bandages are needed. I know many of you are angry and blaming those who ventured into the darkness for waking up and disturbing the Dragons. Yes, it would seem there is more than one. I have it on the Shining Hands own authority that those who gathered and sought to clense that necromancer's paradise did not see any dragon. They went there as servants of Toran, seeking to destroy powerful undead. The anger and the rise of the dragons was an unforseen consequence. Let us not loose sight of our goals. The undead have been destroyed and the evil black dragons are on the run.

*She looks around hopefully, sits down hard and falls fast asleep*

*Brac'ar looks up at the woman and mutters* "I wonder why she says they're on the run, looks to me they attacked as retaliation for invading the lair, not running." Shrugging, he turns back to the person sitting in front of him. "Now, about those goose feather quills, you're charging too much..."
