A rules question

A bit of help...

Is there any reason two of a players PCs can't have the key to the same house?  Also neither of the PCs own the home.  I understand the concern about muling, but only one would live there the other just uses the portal as he has his own house on Dregar.  The second PC, the one living in the house does not, and would not, have a key to the other PCs house on Dergar...

Confused? I am...

So... the PC who owns a home on Dregar would exclusivly use the portal to get to Dregar while the other would live in the home.  A friend of both the PCs owns this home, but will rent a room to the homeless one.  The one with the house on Dregar already has a key.

This was a question posed to me OOC and I didn't know how to answer, so I call to you all to help me out a bit with the rules!

The problem is that the one character would have continued access to the crates of the other character.

If neither character has any storage in the house there shouldn't really be a problem.

BUT... this is something that can not be controlled and implies trusting the players. Something which will eventually be abused in one way or another.

Here's my take on it: If you are comfortable with your ability to not abuse such a situation, go for it. If there is ever even the slightest bit of doubt, however, don't give yourself the chance to mess up.

It's one of those "if it feels wrong, don't do it" sort of things.

Could I get a GM opinion?  I only have one PC so the answer is not for me but rather for a player who I don't think is comfortable for whatever reason posting...
