Help for Hurm
« on: November 13, 2006, 12:15:33 AM »
Broegar has spoken! Hurm will suffer without his help. Adventures are craven and cowardly.  Now is the time to prove him wrong! Now is the time to pull together with the people of Hurm and help them rebuild! Now is the time to show Broegar he is not needed and his attempt to expand his influence under the guise of assisting will not be tolerated.  I call upon all who can to offer their assistance. Be it with goods, building materials, time or offering a home to an orphaned child.  Let us show the people of Hurm and Broegar that we can and will assist them.  We need to co-ordinate our efforts and set about this in a practical manner. Some of us have been in the city for many months now and are aware of what needs doing so please contact me if you can offer assistance.

I am willing to aid the unfortunate in ways that I can, tell me what is needed, and I shall try and provide.

The facilities of the Leilon Arms have been made available as a collection point for goods needed for the relief effort.

It shall remain so, as long as there is a need.

*A hooded figure moves into the inn. Tags a post and moves quietly out – clearly hiding its face.*

People directly involved in The plauge.

From varies posts I can understand that Quantum Windword, Elledan Peters and Ireth Telrunya have been directly involved in the matter of finding the cure.
Please inform us “the unknown” exactly of the situation - about the Plauge.
Is there a final cure? What does that cure consist of? Has the plague been finally defeated or does it still lure around? Can Hurm be approached without any risk for contamination? How many are dead? Etc. These are just a few questions among many I would like to hear of because…
As much as I would like to help certain things and precautions needs to be taken. I do not want to risk my own life by running to Hurm, to aid as much as I can and get infected afterwards… or the lives of others when I will move from Hurm again…please inform us “the unknown” if there is a risk.
Exact and precise information are needed. Please

*A man walks in and pins a note to the wall, he is a short and walks with a limp*

The Plague has been contained, and a cure has been found.  What is needed now is food and building meterials.  Any that can help, please do help.  Quantum has not been seen in Hurm since Broegar's men arrested and took him away.  So all help is need now.  It is in ergent ways they need food.

*Kat walks to the board and digs underneath the ads for sword and rewards for lost pets to tack her notice for Hurm donations made at the outset of the plague. She then takes a quill and adds to the bottom of both hers and Ireth’s*
Kat’s Creations will continue to support the people of Hurm through the acceptance of donations and the collection of basic food supplies and goods. Drop offs can be made at the Arms Tavern.
Even if you burn water or can not thread a needle you can still help the people of Hurm. Donate raw grains, spices, meats. Pick cotton and collect silk for thread! Chop that dead tree down and bring the useable branches to someone who can turn them into something of use. Collect the berries you find along your routes and have someone make them into nutritious juices. Milk a cow! Free the clerics time for potion making by collecting the tiny bits of bone they need! Mine ore that can be smelted and made into new iron works!
If donating is against your principles or your time means money to you then Kats Creations will pay you a fair price for your wares. Her price is better than the pawn shop will pay.

*a note is added to the bottom of Kat's*
As I am going to be tied up in Hurm distributing all collected goods with permission of the Hurm authorities I would ask everyone wishing to donate goods to do so through Kat's Creations and the Leilon Arms.
You will all be pleased to know that secure storage facilities have been located within Hurm.
If you wish to donate funds then I ask that you contact me and I will make arrangements to collect them in person.
Hurm needs wood, metal and other basic building materials, food, clothing and medical supplies. We also need manpower so if you are a talented crafter and feel you could help rebuild then please contact me so I can organise work parties.

*those gathered to read the sign include a couple of merchants recently arrived from the Port city.*

"Tis a surly business there, things aint what they seem none. Since them folks sent Broegar packin' *chuckles* people's is none too happy." The merchant who he ws speaking to nods in agreement.

"Aye yer right, I was talkin' to tha harbour master and he figures people are right annoyed bout that. Seems ta be a bit o' grumbling goin on up there. Troubles a brewing I say."  After that they go onto talk about the journey south and how they thankfully didnt see any pirates.
