Rumours spread quickly amonst adventurers, caravan guards and merchants alike.
While some claim that the Fort was attacked by a dragon, most say seem to agree on news of an attack committed by a group of goblins and men. The gates were breached, some guards slain and the inn burned to the ground.
Many will remember the fatherly innkeeper, who never turned even the poorest customer away on a dark and cold night, or his pretty daughter who served as a maid.
Aside from the bad news, however, most say that few people suffered or were slain in the attack. Most of the inhabitants fled at the first sign of the attack and were unmolested by the attackers.
These have returned and are already rebuilding - like they have done in the past, and will do in the future.
