I was giving this some thought tonight, and wanted some GM feedback, as well as from the rest of the community.
Gork is a half-ogre, and his int is a meager 6. I didn't hit the "Int is my dump stat" button in order to buff him up or anything, and I honestly think I do a pretty good job of playing Gork's low intelligence.
What I am getting at is I would really like to shift Gork's alignment towards the Chaotic Good, instead of Chaotic Neutral, as he has developed a few friendships and such, and having been shown kindness and fairness on a pretty regular basis from these few people (though theres still plenty of hesitant, untrusting and even somewhat hostile encounters) Gork is responding kind of like a dog, treat it nicely and show it attention and it becomes more trusting and affectionate.
My problem lies in the fact that Gork isn't ever likely to read ANYTHING, let alone write anything down... or have a real deep thought for that matter. What manner of journal or record could I keep that would reflect happenings with Gork?
My best idea to date is to have Gorks journal be the notes of a Gnome biologist, who is studying the integration of 'Beast' or 'brute' species into civilized lands and how they adapt to life in civilization. This fellow would be a completely mythical third party observing Gork and describing what he sees.
Would something like that work?
