You could try something like a Wacom Pad, which offers a pen-like device. Mine also came with a 'mouse' to work on the pad for use with applications that the pen didn't feel right for. I will say, using the pen/pad to interface with the computer takes a little getting used to though, I use mine mostly for artwork and still use my USB mouse for most everything else.
