*There is a paper tacked onto the left side of the tavern door of Audira, the fabled Flaming Phoenix that is.. it reads*

There be dark elves around the desert, be cautious, sneaky buggers.
Killed one in e cave in teh desert, might be more yet.

We tried te warn teh town, by te market square n in da inn, but nayone listened te us.

Town guard was more or less absent te.

Gel'larian comes in to the Phoenix to seek respite from a long hunt of a tribe of troublesome giants. Sipping some wine he reads over the notice and becomes stone still. He casually places his glass on a table, collects his gear and heads for the door. As he passes the hostess he casually utters, "No rest for the wicked." and heads out in to the cool night.
