Resubmission for Prestige class

I was wondering, if I resubmitted for a prestige class futher down the line. Do I have to take the levels right after the resubmission was aproved, or could I wait to take it for a specific time?

Yes, that's true. The idea is that by 20th level your character is established in who he/she is and everything past that is an extension of what came before. Still, it's not impossible to have a new class approved after 20th, but more will be expected of the request.
