A plea to the heroes that recovered a paladin's boots and a wider plea to intrepid adventurers everywhere.
Kalberen Starseeker returned with a set of boots and within was found a blank scroll but under examination at the offices of Interesting Investigations the following message was uncovered using special techniques.
"My guides were to lead me beyond trolls to a wizard somewhere beyond. Now my guides are troll food and I leave this message for any who follow I go on alone and ill equiped to gather information from the wizard. Yung Steadfast."
Interesting Investigations implores any with interest or knowledge to continue the search for this missing paladin around the Katherian area.
*Boris sniff's his beans container, and winces.*
Ugh! Dat stinks!
*Irony gathers up around him, forms a cloud of hypocricy and frowns at him*
Dang trolls musta tainted ma beans!
...Uh....
Ah should go find Annie! Mebe dat li'l pixy'll make me ah new batch?
*With that he tosses his beans conainer at the lapsed body of a troll and wanders off in to the muck of the swamps....*
Kal sends another message to Brualot at the offices of Interesting Investigations:
Master Brualot,
A body has been recovered by Corky Embercrackle, Ryubi Jingles, Ryn, Borris, Grog, Doc Stoneater and myself, along with a map and some rations. No holy symbol. We should meet again in Katherian to discuss further.
Regards,
Kalberen Starseeker
Brualot formally thanks the efforts of those showing the true grit necessary to risk exploration for the missing paladin. Sadly it is bad news they discovered, the paladin steadfast is dead likely at the hands of the mad wizard he sought.
But not all is lost for among his clothing a scroll was found that may point to a lost horde the paladin was seeking.
That is quite a crowd of respected adventurers that have lent a hand so far. Some of the usual suspects and Doc stoneater even....now where have I heard such a name before.... there is more to find my friends, please keep looking, for steadfast's sake.
Brualot,
Ryubi, Corky, Ryn and I found the chest indicated on the recovered map. There was a handaxe that appeared to compliment this man's penchant for battling Pit Dwellers and a small amount of coin. I found no other message. Please advise.
-Kalberen Starseeker
Brualot replies directly but also posts a more public reply elsewhere for interested adventurers.
Fellow investigators I commend your work so far. This has been a vital find and confirms something of my suspicions. Steadfast left me a little uncertain on the way forward and yet oddly bound to do something. Your recent work has made the way forward clear.
I invite those interested parties to gather for a meeting at a time and date yet to be confirmed. Let us meet at the Leringard Arms, I must pass that way and used to do good business there back in the old days. Anyone who has an interest in progressing the work that Yung Steadfast started should gather for there may be trouble ahead.
//will work out a time and date for some rp soon
Dear Master Brualot, Investigator Extrordinaire and Member of the Circle,
It has come to my attention that you have had some success attracting the attention of some hearty mercenaries to aid you in your exploits. I want to congratulate you on your methods of advertising and promotion for your causes. I have failed miserably in the same. My notices are plucked by ravens or washed blank by the rains. Enclosed you will find one of my last remaining notices that I had sent out some time ago. As you can see I seek to regain my name for some unsavory acts done by some ignorants. I send it to you hoping you can pass it along your marvelous channels of communicad. I dare say I do not want to interupt your progress, so if you feel it might represent a competition then by all means return my notice.

Inspector Rivarmar to be honest I am not entirely surprised that your efforts have fallen flat footed into the poo pile. It seems you are as out of date as your elderly Ravens and dried ink. Why I think it was the other week my agents revealed that one of the Dumas fellows had hot footed it over to your place faster than a fellow could sketch four brothers galloping past a bend in the river and collected what must surely pass for a clue in this sad affair in the form of a map.
He assures me the game is afoot and he will collect some like minded individuals shortly and put that matter right quicker than a sculptor might create a master of weapons in full swing and set it to guard his door like some ancient talisman of old.
//Two things
The Dumas brothers announce they intend to pursue the gang that so outraged common decency and fled to a lair somewhere in the roughlands. Adventurers are invited, clerics and wizards especially welcome. Tralek Rivarmar will have his justice!
//7.30 ish gmt tuesday 18.02.14 Fort Miritrix
Brualot has left a missive concerning the vanished toranite at the bookcase in the Leringard Arms for perusal by interested parties.
//self explanatory instructions therein
530 Eastern on a Tuesday? I am so there! Thanks Mix! You rock!
7:30GMT is 2:30 ET
Yep that works too. 2:30 Eastern it is! Yay! Yay!
Aden the ranger, Brutus the brute, an old investigator, and two dashing Dumas were not quite enough to right the wrong perpetrated upon the trading company of the wizard -though there are a few less bugs in the world now. The matter remains unresolved -for now!
Elsewhere there is no news of the treasure the lost Tornaite was pursuing. It lies in wait...somewhere.
A young man with short black hair and calm, inquisitive ice blue eyes can be seen around the arms and other places, looking for those involved in finding the body in the first place as well as the ongoing investigations in the missing paladin issue. He presents himself as "William Leox, Paladin of the Order of the Longsword" and offers his help if so required.
* Borris, comes crawling out of the Wilds with more cuts and bruises on him then a swashbuckling dummy. Some swashbuckling dummies near by frown at him and turn away from him. His sword is kinked, his shield is dented, his helmet is crooked, and he looks constipated. He has bloodstains on his bloodstains. A selection of arrows and bolts are sticking out of him. One pierces his upper cheek in such a way as to resemble an intentional ritualistic piercing would it not be for the fact that it isn't.
He tries to stand prostrate but can only manage an old man's hunch, attempts to brush himself off and catch his breath.*
Ugh! Wadda mess!
Dang good thing dem Dumas brothers an' dat Brualot fella was wit me to even get where we did.
Dang!
An' we was so close! Uh could almost smell treasure.
* Looks about himself almost in surprise to find much of himself mostly intact save all the bloodied, battered, tortured, arrow stricken flesh.*
Ah think we're gonna need uh bigger boat!
//Two things...cont.
The treasure of the lost Toranite is still out there, Brualot has had to move on but has left instructions for would be Toranite supporters, and other ..like minded individuals in a bookcase at that fine establishment the Leringard Arms. He notes the offer of "William Leox, Paladin of the Order of the Longsword" and encourages him and those like him to get involved.
He leaves a note for the disheveled Brutus recommending a tailor in Leringard, and more importantly informing he and any interested parties that the Dumas brothers have promised to raise a force at Fort Miritrix to complete the storming of the dungeon and the righting of a wrong purported upon a wizard of distinction. Treasure to be taken, bugs to be busted and Cults to be cremated.
Any like minded individuals might want to gather
7.30pm ish, GMT tuesday 25.02.14
Borris checks himself in at Yashillias spa and treatment center for much needed //and much unwanted// R&R
//Sad to say, due to a big unexpected cluster-kerfuffle at work I sall not be able to attend. It seems I'm the only poor fool who can actually DO anything where I work and so I am more needed than I would like to be on Tuesday at the 2:30 Eastern start time. It's a rare unwanted circumstance but it falls neatly in the "RL sux!" category. I'm sure you guys will have that all long since sorted it all out by next Monday or Tuesday when I will be free again, and for that you have my warmest support. Keep me posted!//
The attendant at Yashillia's spa and treatment center vomits on herself and then feints and falls to the floor when Borris takes off one of his boots and ask's for a pedecure.
//For what its worth, I CAN do a 5:30pm GMT (your time) start, meaning 12:30pm Eastern (my time) on Tuesday and dedicate two honest hours to it if that helps. Just a thought!?//
The toranite treasure map is still up for grabs...
