Noss, Nossyla Steele, Healer, at yur service
« on: July 05, 2005, 07:19:00 AM »
Full Name: Nossyla Steele
Age: 138
Class: Cleric
Race: Dwarf
Subrace: none
Alignment: NG
Deity: Dorand (Master of Crafts)
Domains: Strength and Protection
Short Bio/ Description:

As a dwarf who’s clan claims to have come from the Grey Peak mountains so many years ago, I travel this land to make items to help protect the weak of this land. I travel this land with my trusted friend Argos Axeblade, most the time. Argos can cause trouble from time to time, especially if he is near a keg of spirits. I tend to try, really I do try, to stay away from the spirits. That last tavern brawl was a knocker I tell ya! Argos put a hurtin on a few half orcs for calling him a …. Well you get the idea. I stood outside and patched up the wounds as they got thrown out. I once knew a paladin, he was a friend to the end. He did not die, not that I know of at least, his path went another way is all. I sure wish our paths would cross again in the future, he is a great human I am pleased to call a friend. I forget how I met Argos, must have been a tavern fight, or was it that pretty dwarven barmaid with a beard to die for? One creature I can not stand is goblins, I just want to kill them all. Help ya in any way I can …..

Noss, Nossyla Steele, Healer, at yur service.  A dwarf whom believes to treat others as he wishes to be treated in return.  Even Drows get respect from Noss, that is until he is attacked, then Noss will protect himself.

I travel these lands to help others.  I craft products that help others.  I am a dwarf, my temper can be short, especially when someone falls that is in my traveling party.

One such dwarf that I travel a lot with is none other than the excellent crafter himself, Argos Axeblade.  Argos and I have traveled to many caves, mountains, forests, and deserts of this land.  We mine for many resources.

I have met a few followers of Dorand.  Including Gulnyr, Argos, Victor Firefall, Golden Blacknight, Dal’Venus Suranen, Ta’karsh Blacklung, Trogar Battletriker, Tormak Torcsmith, and Waha Hammerheart.

Some travelers of this land who have made impressions on me include; Rolf, Malandaar, Gathras, Silvrine, Geir, Bil, Dorax, Brue, Durin, Nex, Vindel, and Path.  By no means is this a complete list, many others should be included here, but Argos had me at the pub a wee few hours ago, and I think a bit of my intelligence has left me.

What is next on my travels?
Well Dregar needs mapped.  Yes I create maps.  So in the near future I shall be looking for new resources to craft.  I shall be looking for new lands to map.  I shall also be looking for individuals whom need help.

Well went on a trip with Argos today ... turned ugly ... we found a few items we seeked, but then with too much stuff in our packs, we ran into trolls, snakes, mercs, grizzley bears, bug bears, and more.  Was very big learning experience, and we might have wanted to ask for some company on that trip ....

After traveling together for some time now, Sharhar started to ask some questions of what I have seen and done.  So I decided to ask her over to the house one evening for a fish dinner and some of my story.  Argos and I bought the house at 172 Blackford a while back.  The neighbors are good people.  It is a quiet place to rest.  The house is not fancy, we do not have much, but it is our home.  Since I was going to entertain, I needed to borrow a good sized table and some chairs.  So I asked my neighbor Rolf if I could borrow some items.  He only had a couple chairs that I could borrow.  After I carried them into the house, I then asked Rolf to join us for the dinner and entertainment.

I decided to go to the bank and withdrawal enough coins to get a table big enough for this evening, and some chairs.  Argos carried the table and I carried the two chairs. I then sent Argos to get some drinks for the evening.  I was not sure if Argos would return with the wine and ale or if he would drink it all before he got back.  I went fishing and caught some Carp, Herring, Salmon, Trout, Bass, Catfish, and Pike.  When I got to the house I cleaned them and cooked them in our oven.  While cooking I thought of where to start with my story.  Argos and I have known each other for some time now, almost none of what I say tonight will be new to him.  Argos did return with the Ale and wine I had requested.  He suggested inviting our friend Brit Forgeheart as well.  I also thought inviting Kayla Warcrest would be nice.  I wanted to invite Malandaar and Miranda, but they told me they would be gone a while on some personal business of theirs.

There is so many I could invite, but yet so few.
Well Argos and I cleaned the house and set the table.  As we were almost ready for our guests, there was a knock at the door.  I still had my metal armor on, as Argos has not made me a shirt and pants yet.  Argos was wearing his robe.  Opened the door and just about fainted at the sight of a very elegantly dressed Sharhar.  Even Argos was speechless.  I asked her to enter and showed her to the chairs and table.  She explained that the dress she just made for the evening.  She was stunning even though she was no dwarf; she defiantly made my heart skip a beat or two.  I explained why I was still in my armor, and she told me expected this.  Was I that predictable?  A knock at the door.  Rolf, good fellow dressed in a simple but something noble like clothing entered and joined us.  Brit walked in next, as he has his own key.  He rents a room from Argos and I.  Brit is a human, he has an edge, but he is polite and honorable.  The last of the expected guests was Kayla.  She dressed elegantly as well.  Her outfit was simple but also made this dwarf see her physical beauty that normally was hidden by her armor normally wore.  As I served my guests and Argos, there was yet another knock.  I opened the door to see Reef standing at the door holding a jug.  He asked if he could come in, he needed to ask a question.  By all means Lad, I said.  I told him a few friends were here for a dinner and entertainment; he started to walk to the door and leave.  I stopped him and told him he was welcome to stay, he was a friend; I just thought he was out of town on his boat again. He decided to stay.

So Reef, Kayla, Rolf, Sharhar, Brit, Argos, and I each sat down to a fish dinner and some drinks, before our talk and entertainment.

I asked Rolf to say a few words in prayer before we began.  He did and he included each person’s god and beliefs in a short and honorable prayer.  The dinner went well I thought; as everyone enjoyed their meals it appeared.  Argos liked the spirits the most I think.  Once we finished I cleaned off the table, with each guest wanting to help.  I asked that my guests sit and relax; I explained that they were my guests and I would not accept their help, politely of course.  Argos was glad, he made some comment to the effect it’s about time.  The others reluctantly accepted and relaxed as I walked back and forth to the kitchen, my guest talked and laughed.

Walking into the room, the group was all smiling, enjoying each others company, I stopped and stood for a moment, was good to see the happiness.

Well all, hoped you enjoyed your meal and now if I may talk for a bit.  I asked you all to join me because you are all my friends.  Sharhar asked me some questions a few days back that I thought some of you may also have of me.  So I made a meal for you to eat and some drinks to enjoy as I tell of myself a bit, I just hope you all so not fall a sleep.

Not sure I remember how I met ya Argos, must have been a brawl, but I honestly say you are a brother all in all.  Brit you came to me one day asked to learn to forge.  I do my best to teach ya, and you have learned well.  Reef, where did we meet?  I do not recall.  But if I am in need, you answer my call.  Rolf, good neighbor, healer, friend, holy man, you have my back, I have yours.  Kayla, drow elf, one should fear if I were a predigest type, but you have done no wrong.  You fight side by side with me and others in this room you honor us and help us in anyway you can.  My hammer is at your service.  Sharhar, a queen by sight, a lady in her talk, a defender of us all.

I have traveled this land with many.  I also try to help people in need.  I defend the weak and feed the poor.  I have seen an ogre in the red light caverns.  Undead in the Haven mine.  Drow assassins in Hlint.  Evil dwarfs spitting on good people.  Dragon Lich on Dregar.  And other nasty creatures.  But tonight let us be at ease.

My clan is from Grey Peaks, they traveled down the mountain to find a new home.  The ogres were just too much for them to bear.  As the clan passed through Hlint, I decided to stay.  To travel, make new friends, help people here.  I try not to judge people by their skin, I let the individual’s actions and words be my judging.  As a healer I must say the sight of blood bothers me a lot.  When some one in my care has to talk to their god because they fell, I lose my temper and I am not a pleasant dwarf to be around.

Argos you remember that day when we thought we cleaned out the topaz mine?  I was running for the exit all full of joy and excitement.  Then out of no where, 20 plus Ogres surprise us.  You would not walk down wind of me once we got out.  I spent two whole days cleaning my armor.  No Reef it was not the Ogre blood that needed cleaned off.

Kayla, that Draco Lich really liked you did it not?  Had you trapped in that Inn for some time.  We were surprised that day.

Rolf your homeland is a pretty but dangerous land.  Those Islands can take the heat right out of ya.

Silent Watch Mountains is dark on dark a place can be.  Been told a medusa lives there, one day I may have to see.

Berhagen Mountains and Lar, two different places yet the same.  Dwarven built, but yet evil lives.

Dorand does his best to keep the Ogres out of Lar.  It has been so long since I have seen Shoufal.

Lately I have been called a disgrace and my own kin spitting on me.  Thanks to Kayla and Argos to help me calm my temper and not stoop to their level.  I do ask each of you to make sure I do not fall in their traps.  If you see an argument, get me to walk away.

I honestly must say that not everyone thinks of me as a friend.  I did not try to upset these individuals, but today they consider me an enemy.

Let me talk of the future if I may.  What is next and what is my future?  If it only possible, but I know in can not be.  These two ladies each make me heart do funny things.  If only they had beards.

I continue to create as Dorand asks of me.  I make potions, rings, amulets, and I heal.  I sell the goods Argos and Brit make.   Selling to help the weak makes me feel good.  Some do not like Argos and I for the prices we sell these items at.  I feel it is simply supply and demand.  The demand seems low compared to the supply.  We do not want items lying around, but yet we want to sell high quality items at a fair price.  Argos and I continue to travel, and search for materials to craft.  I continue to improve my maps.  My future is in this room.  I am a servant of one and all.  I ask to be treated with honor and respect.  You all have done this in the past, which is why I call thee friends.  Maybe one in this room does not call another in this room a friend, but simply tolerate each other.  May time ease such hate and maybe you can call the other friend.  If you ever, and I can not say that word enough, ever need a helping hand, please please ask me !!!

With that I remove myself from this soapbox I stand … err I mean sit on.

After other stories and jokes each person went their own ways.  I will see them all soon …Blood will see to that I am sure.

after a few days passed, Noss wakes up this fine morning and his voice is back.  Strange ... challenging ... especially for a healer.

was good to speak some verbal commands for spells ...

Well Argos got himself in trouble again, the brawls are every night it seems.  Mind you he never starts these at all.  But as a dwarf he and I feel it is our duty to defend those we call friends.  That halfling was calling names of Rolf, oh did you know Rolf was a orc now?, anyways Argos had enough.  To be very honest, I was about to send that halfling to the abyss myself, but that hand came from no where, poor poor halfling, that is gonna hurt when he wakes up.

I got some materials today and was making Potions.  Argos drinks the cure potions like ale, sometimes I wonder if I am drunk and putting ale in the cures.

Brit has a fine collection of armors, sold two today to some young lads.

Argos and I seek that Platnium mine in the fens, we just are not good enough yet to get the ore.  Admantium would be nice to work as well.  Silver and Gold we can get, just no drinking for two days prior, guards are good there.

Maybe a trip soon ... Argos, Rolf, Sharhar, and myself ... where shall we go?  Rolf has advanced in his faith here of late, his skills are much better than mine now.  Argos is about a equal fighter as I am healer.  Sharhar, our new renter, she is still learning, but is very helpful on hunts.  Argos has been buggin me about his dream ... I wonder ... maybe a talk with Dorand, he may tells us a spot to travel to so Argos can improve his skill as his dream tells him.  Rolf and Sharhar have both asked about Dorand, and I have not been able to tell them a good answer about Dorand, so the trip would help them see his powers.  I guess, all that I would seek on a trip such as this, is to help my friends ...

Noss, Argos, and Nex were hunting on Dregar.  Things went real wrong!  Argos carried Noss home, put him in bed and went looking for Rolf.  Rolf is a healer he can help.  Noss has blood coming out his ears and nose.  Noss eye are open yet he does not speak.  He barely moves.  Noss does not look good at all.

Argos looking for any help he can find also checks Noss' desk for a name of someone who may help.  Argos comes across Noss' will ...

I Nossyla Steele, if something bad were to happen to me, do leave my share of the house to my brother Argos Axeblade.  Furniture items in the house also go to Argos Axeblade.  Any gems in my crates go to my duaghter Ireth Telrunya.  Armors to my son Brit Forgeheart.  Weapons to my son Elladan Peters.  To Sharhar Cul'Laire I leave the rings on my fingers, my holy symbol, and the memory of a very fond friendship.  Any gold in the bank is to be split 6 ways ... Argos, Brit, Sharhar, Ireth, Elladan, and the last share I would like Rolf to donate it to a childrens home in the name of Dorand.

Argos leaves the house in search of Rolf ....

Shahar still sits by Noss day and night.  Brit sits outside his door every night, just incase the assassins return.  Noss does not look any better, none at all.  No word for Lar either, Dorand followers must be hard at work trying to find a cure.

With the illness not going away, does one retire from such adventure?  Not like life will be boring, the youngster need tutalige.  Friend Rolf still searches for a cure for me.  My strength is weak, must take many naps.  Sharhar keeps telling me to eat, gaining weight, not sure I can get in my armor now.  I bet the kids could use some cure potions, wonder if I have the strength?  It sure was nice of Sharhar to stay with me, I must speak with her about this.  Brit has left me a note, something serious has happened, I hope he has matured some these last few weeks. His inner demon is strong.  Brother Argos has returned from his training, maybe one day I can go hunting with him again.  Well I better rest some more, I tired from just writing these notes.

Well it sounds like Ireth and Brit have gone and done it.  Congradulations to them, maybe I will be a granddwarf here soon.  Would be nice to have some youngins running around, keep me active in my retirement.  First boy should be named after Ireth's father, but the next son ... I will suggest this name to Ireth when I see her next.  I am very happy for them, I just hope Ireth can kill the evil in him.

Noss was having a talk with Sharhar and Ireth, Sharhar was writing in her book and making references to some of her notes. Noss polietly asked Sharhar for the book, and Sharhar gave him the book.  Noss simply held the book, did not make it obvious that he hated the thing.  Noss kept asking Sharhar to say things from her heart, don't reference the writings from the book. Sharhar was having a breakdown, she finally went to rest in her room.  Noss thought long and hard on what he should do with her book, including burning it, throwing in the lake, reading it, or nothing at all with it.  We will see if Sharhar even remembers that he has it.

writes a letter
*thinks to himself as he begins the letter* you know this is for you ....

So close no matter how far
Couldnt be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters
Never opened myself this way
Life is ours we live it our way
All these words I dont just say
And nothing else matters
Trust I seek and I find in you
Everyday for us something new
Open mind for a different view

*takes paper and throws it in the fireplace*  It can not be ....

I worry for brother Argos, a dwarf of little words, yet huge heart.  He just wants to make his weapons, he loves the mines, the forge, and I think he likes the "family".  He has seen Blood once, face to face, in Hlint one day, many seen Blood that day, but I think Argos may have taken it personal.
Soul Mother has warned me, If I must visit her again, so how am I to aid Argos if I am in my chair at home and he is seeking Blood?
What of Ireth and Brit, they travel seeking this Dougal?
Sharhar is troubled and does not seem herself of late.
Has the whole place gone mad?
Or are these power seeking individuals trying to become gods, as the gods kill themselves.  Dorand has been good to me, I try to do as he asks, I try to get people to see his kind heart.

The next time Noss sees Sharhar he gives her her book back.  He did not read it, nor did he damage it in any way.  He did have a skilled tailor add some gold to reinforce the binding. He also embrodered her name "Sharhar" to the cover. Small tokens for help when he was ill.

Must say feeling better these days, still coughing from time to time, but lots better.  The family is a big reason I am feeling better.  Can not say enough about these good people.  If it is dark and evil outside, it always seems peaceful and warm inside.  Went and got some meat and fish to let the family enjoy. Plus the pelts for Argos and Sharhar to practice with.  Funny thing, I had a crate open putting items in, and I must have fainted, as when I came too the crate was empty.  I seen eight black bear pelts, eight cure serious wound potions, and two oak short bows, but not sure what else there was.  I do hope there was no platnium ingots there.  Argos uses that crate, I must tell him about it.  The gods must of taken these things, cause I am positive I closed the outside door after I came in.  Gods seem awful busy of late, Dorand himself even seems busy of late.  All this hate, bah!
Well maybe time for another dinner party.

Noss Will

With the events of late thought it best to update this ...
*thinks to himself how people can be so evil to each other, peoples words mean so little these days*

Sitting at his desk, Noss writes ...

I Nossyla Steele, if something bad were to happen to me, do leave my share of the house to my brother Argos Axeblade.  Furniture items in the house also go to Argos Axeblade.  Any gems in my crates go to Sharhar Cul'Laire.  Armors and weapons to Argos Axeblade.  To Sharhar Cul'Laire I leave the rings on my fingers, my holy symbol, and the memory of a very fond friendship.  Any gold in the bank is to be split 3 ways ... Argos,  Sharhar, and the last share I would like Argos to donate it to a childrens home in the name of Dorand.
