I arrived in the small town called Hlint today. Wanting to learn more about this place and the surroundings, I set out to explore. I was glad to see that this town has some well-stocked stores from which I managed to buy some supplies with the small amount of gold I had on me. I also managed to buy some equipment from these stores including a sword like the one my father used to use. It's nothing fancy, but should help protect me while I travel. Note to self: try to earn more money and get some better armor. Upon continuing my exploring, I came across a few people who offered me payment to do a few small errands. I agreed to do these tasks, knowing the extra gold would come in handy. The tasks where not that easy, but I managed to complete a few of them and was rewarded most generously for them. With my gold sack at a more satisfactory size, I continued my exploration. I have come across another town, not that far from the one called Hlint. I am pleased to see a temple here to my god Toran. Upon entering said temple I was greeted by a cleric of Toran who called himself Quantum. Noticing I was looking around he guessed I was new in these parts, so he offered to show me around a bit and help me with my combat techniques. Knowing it would be safer traveling with company, I agreed. We have traveled quite far from the town called Hlint. I have not had a opportunity to write since just before we left the temple, Quantum likes to keep moving it seems. Many strange creatures make their homes in this land, ranging from some type of giant bird to a undead which is almost see through. Quantum is very skilled in combat, so for awhile I just used a sling I had bought to help him combat the creatures in this part and watched Quantum's forums. We passed through a forest that Quantum called the broken forest. He said he wasn't sure why it was called this. Note to self: find out why the broken forest is called that. Ahh he is awake, time to continue. Back in the town Quantum called Fort Llast. Quantum had to take his leave of me to attend to some other things. Nice person that Quantum, but has a slight obsession with the undead. My gold sack is a very nice size now from all the gold we collected during our adventure. I have met a friend of Quantum's, he calls himself Twixel. He was kind enough to assist me in getting the essence of a darksoul (Twixel said a dark soul is a dark fiend that controls the dead, keeping them from moving on) for a errand I was on. He also pointed out a place where he said a "witch" would pay for some skeleton bones. I have found the place and gotten a interesting looking necklace from the "witch". It is time to retire to the inn for the night.

Finally found this journal. It appears I had accidentally left it in Fort Llast. Over the last few days I have done a few more errands for people around Hlint, met new people and done a bit of metalworking. I found a good supply of copper in the goblin caves and the kobold caves near Hlint. While mining in the goblin caves, I found a few minerals that I had to wash in the crafting house to find what they were. To my surprise, one of them was a emerald. I had heard these gems are quite rare and people would pay quite a bit for them, so I put up a notice saying I had one for sale. I have gotten quite a few offers for it so far. I hope to get some nice equipment for that gem. I met a half giant today called Klugger. Together we did a bit of iron mining by Haven Castle and some copper and tin mining in the Seilwoods. Klugger was kind enough to help me with a errand also. He is quite strong, if kind of strange looking. I also met Robert Valteise today. He is quite the skilled mage. Knowledgeable also, he was able to show me where to find some boars for another errand I was asked to do. There are quite a few hospitable people here.
