The diary of Fifur Gringo, The Hunt Begins

After a long journey i have finally arrived at the small town of Hlint, the locals seem friendly enough, for now.Once i had settled in a bit, the town tax collector asked me to retrieve her book which she had lost in the sewers, naturally for the thrill of a good battle i accepted. Hmph simple rats almost not worth my time, anyway i got her book and she seemed thankful for it, so much as to give me a little payment for it, i thanked her and moved on.
Later that day i met an elf named Sy'Ravenne, she seemed friendly enough, she introduced me to others that had something or someone lost to them and were trying to better themselves, well it would seem that i would have many friends around here. None knew of the thieves i wa chasing however.
I introduced myself to the craft house in the afternoon, if I couldn't have my precious Sky Scorcher then i would atleast make my current weapon fearsome, after a long session of custmomizing i came up with what i called "The Gold Dragon". Then ended my first day, a whole new day of adventuring and learning awaited me.

My second day saw me down the town crypts looking for an evil spirit for Erag, the Undertaker. Glokk Battlcry, a hlaf giant, and a swordsman who's name i have sadly forgot since writing this helped me through the crypt, although i saw little serious fighting due to this realised just how weak i had become since losing my Sky scorcher, in a way i think i lost a bit of myself when that got stolen.
Later on in the day i realised just how weak i was when i ventured down the Red Light Caves all by myself, i became flanked by many goblins and eventually found myself back at Hlint, thank goodness for those bindstones. I guess if i want to find those thieves i would have to buff up somewhat, oh well i still have time.
Late that afternoon, i paid another visit to the craft house, this time i had enough to buy myself some copper full plate, i decided on a style that would complement my Gold Dragon's looks and instill yet more fear into the enemie's hearts, this style i chose resembled that of a far eastern warrior's....or so i was told. Thus ends the second day of my hunt, Still little information has been gathered about those thieves ...but i'm not sure if i want any just now, when i'm stronger i shall begin the hunt full and proper.

I had another trip down the Red Light Caves today with a cleric companion, i appeared to be getting stronger now as i found the whole trip less...dangerous, I found quite a talent for mining down there, the whole business reminded me of my clan life, i left my clan to escape a life of mining and to go find adventure, look at me now struggling to get through a goblin ridden cave just so i can mine some copper, life works in strange ways.
later on i found a use for the nuggets of copper i mined, smelting. Now i didn't personally get to do this in my clan so this is a new thing for....i wasn't the best at it on first go, the nugget i put in came out all black, scarred and out of shape, oh well i can always learn.
That evening i met up with a few people and we travelled to the Sielwood Cave, this place has some strange monsters, little dog/rats that the others called kobolds and giant cubes of jelly, quite a scary place for a first timer, especially since one of the rats tried to blind me by throwing bright colours at me! Anyway, we got what we wanted from the place, a necklace that belonged to ragrian, i'm sure she'll be glad to have it back, on the side i also managed to scrape some tin before we left, wont get anywhere in the smithery business if i dont try new metals.
My third day finished i feel myself getting stronger, maybe my halberd wont be so far away after all, i can only hope.

It's been a long time since i've wrote in this journal, i've grown alot stronger since then, maybe strong enough to properly start hunting down those thieves that stole my pride and joy. I think i will, today's as good a day as any to start looking, but where to start.....
On a side note i've met an awful lot of people since i lost wrote in here, too many to list so i wont go into that. Also i've started mining and smelting bronze and iron, heh these metals are a good deal harder to make than copper i'm coping atleast. To get to the iron i had to go to the ogre infested haven mines, first impressions of it were awfully good for me, i think i found my sporting grounds here, those ogres sure know how to fall.
Another entry into this journal has past and i can feel myself getting closer to my precious Sky Scorcher every day, not far now.
