New player help

Okay, i am a person that loves to play priests and the system that exists here is very nice and extremely intriguing to me so here are my questions:

1)Domains: Are they a requirement or a guideline? The very few gods that have the healing domain are not gods that I wish to worship. What is the rule on domains? I did not see this topic covered in your players guide.

2)Weapon and armor of choice: again, requirement or guideline? I noticed like vorax is the axe and someone else is the bastardsword etc. Will I be required to spend one of my feats taking the weapon proficiency catagory that will allow me to take the preferred weapon?

3)I like folian S'pae as a god and noticed that his weapon preference is the longbow. Do elves in this game (am fairly new to all of NWN ... just not RPing) receive longsword and longbow as weapons of choice or again would I have to take the required feat to get these weapons?

Requirement, not a whole bunch of leeway on this unless you want to convince Leanthar why another deity would have a Healing domain.

Guideline, reasons for using alternate weapons/armor should be incorporated in Character Submission or Character Development.

All elves but sea elves get the elven weapon proficiency that includes longbow and longsword.
