The Journals of Czukay

Wandering the Dire Forest at night, Czukay thinks back to the previous weeks of his enduring pain...

He thought he knew what it meant to follow under the mad god Corath. What he thought about before he abandoned his family in Krandor was that all that mattered was power. The black sun had came to him in a dream that night in the Krandor crypts in the dark...in the dream Corath promised Czukay that he may help build that dark city that lay beyond him...Czukay saw many things swirling in the horizon beyond the cloaked figure of doom...darkness and chaos rending patterns on the structures...it was always the chaos that fascinated Czukay. The way something can come along a path and change it forever...that sharp twist in reality that cuts a new fate.

The dark sun told him true power would be gained in time. A power his mind couldn't even imagine to fathom. He had mentioned there were others like him , and that he would know them when he found them. For they would wear the symbol of the black sun around their necks. In time, Czukay did find these select few and began to study underneath them the ways of the Black Sun. Needless to say Czukay was stripped of every power he had...he was taught rules in which to walk the land by. He was taught to be subservient to others, a sort of respectful fool to their own sick enjoyment. In Czukays own heart he saw there vision to be distant from his own swirling darkened visions. Order and obiedience was the last thing that Czukay would need in order to fulfill his dream and life work to make structures of chaos a reality. And all he found within this group of souls was just that. He decided to walk a different path of darkness all his own. His dreams of darkness would still frequent him, and the figure in his dreams would tell him...don't you worry my dark son...I have other plans for you. Something strange and unnerving would move in the darkness...it would change things somewhere and everywhere...so dark....so cold....so alone...just the way Czukay liked it.
