(I will start with my characters past here, this since I haven't received my copy of neverwinternights + expansions yet. Need to start off somewhere or I will just forget what I intended this character to be.)
The Birth
Childbirth is seldom a pleasant event; however, when the scream of the mother are replaced by the screams of the newborn this is usually a cherished event for mother, earth mother and child alike. Seeing a new life seep into the world and becoming a part of it is an event seldom forgotten. And so it was in this case, however, it was not remembered for those not so simple reasons. It was far more complicated then that.
This since the screams of the child never took place and this because the screams of the earth mother replaced those of the mother. The scream of the old woman echoed in the small chamber and at some point during this stressful event the artery to her heart collapsed and she tumbled to a heap on the floor. One word escaped her lungs as her eyes slowly began to loose their spark. “-Demonspawn…” She coughed once and was silent forever.
The mother of the child simply smiled sadly and said “.One life comes to this world, another one leaves it. This is the ways of things. I shall pray for you benevolent earth mother. It saddens me that I could not tell you of the end that you would face. But blame not the child, just your own fear and ignorance. Judge not by looks, judge by heart, this child is no different from others save in shape and form.”
She looked down on the child in her arms; very gently she had picked him up while she gave the earth mother a lecture for her next life. The little one looked at her with sparkling eyes, in which she could sense many emotions to be discovered. Joy, grief, love, hate, loyalty, fear, lust, greed, were some of the emotions that struck out from this child and the many different paths he could take in life. With strings not completely attached to the world it was always impossible to read the future of a child, even in their years of becoming adults one could only see a glimpse of several possibilities, not just a path or two, hundreds. Only adults fixed in this world strongly enough their minds set on their life ahead was affixed enough to be suitable for a true reading.
