    How do stats work
    « on: April 08, 2006, 10:06:41 PM »
Mikey has a walkaround str of 30, yet he cannot be buffed past 31, is there a maximum plus you can add to a base stat?  What counts against it?  He has gloves, 2 rings, and an amulet.

You can only have your base strength (naked), plus up to 12 more points from items, spells and subrace skins included.

I bet the 3 from the half giant skin counts against that 12 too.

Is this a layo or engine rule?

Consider any skin as a buff and the points it give are added to the 12 max your allowed to go over the base.

Buy two Con rings and switch to them when someone buff you with Str. You should still have about 30 in Str anyway..

always nice to have those extra HP in battle ;)

Oh, I agree.  Had I known this, he would have taken int at 4th level instead of 12th.  too bad, he could have had an ac from tumble.  Thanks for your responses.
