bah. college ain't so bad. once you find your rhythm, you'll have plenty of time. the trick is getting there, finding your flow, and then applying it to each class encounter. the projects that at the moment seem so daunting will soon become afterthoughts, normalities that hardly impede your normal mode of function.

That is the wisest thing I've ever seen. Kudos, dude.

I'm offically overwhelmed and wigging out Rhynn signing off!
In my expert opinion, 4 research projects of any substance in 4 months is exorbitant. You should seriously consider asking around for another instructor who will better fit your style of learning.

Sometimes wished I did the college thing.  Live in dorms and party lots, well atleast thats all I would have done in the first year.  Though I made the right choice, I lacked the focus and motivation to really accomplish anything in College and that would have ended up in me wasting alot of money to eventually drop out.

Yeah but this is a core class for the college so...  No matter the instructor the syllabus will be the same...  I really do appreciate all the help, and Welcome Back Rhiz!  But Upon further inspection I realise It's just a bunch of seperation anxiety and being thrown into a GIANGANTIC place from a place where there was a graudating class of 60 kids that I've known for four years...I'm afraid Ill loose all my old contacts and never make any new ones...It's just a bunch of overwhelming daunting things that...*sighs*...  and to top it off I can't sleep! *laughs*

I met all the friends I really keep close to me in college. All of the ones from highschool, except two, I never see except on a random occassion. I see the rest of my friends, when really I consider everything else in my life, as my family. You'll be fine.

Right on, Eight-bit. It's exactly the same way for me. The dearest friends I have I met in college.

So chin up, Lynn, the best is yet to come!

Agreed, although I have some good friends from high school, I have met some of the most important people to me at Uni.  Your true friends will stick to you no matter what. Besides ten years after high school when you meet, if they are good friends, it will be as if you only saw them yesterday.

You do a lot of maturing at Uni, it is the first time that you have to really motivate yourself to work.  I didn't get a hang of that until 3rd year....

You will be fine.  You will figure out that you really can do an assignment by staying up all night (and still be attentive in class the next day, coffee really helps, or learn to sleep with your eyes open) and that going out every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night until 2-4 am is normal.

Not that I did anything like that...

Eh.  I was in Science One at UBC for my first year.  I lost count of the number of research projects we had to do, and then we had to put together an original research paper for the end (and 20% of our mark).  Once you get used to it, you'll realize that four research projects are nothing.  Of course, that's the same time that your profs will realize you're used to it, and double your work.  *grins in a DM-esque way*

If you wear a trenchcoat to cover your nightie in your early class, start sleeping in your clothes when the weather turns warm.
