*chuckles*  Well, what would be REALLY nifty is an automated "turn the page" function that actively changes the description of the item.

Sadly, I think that one's a LITTLE beyond the quill system.  Without it, though, you may as well hold the book for show, then *hand them the book* in parchment form.

Hellblazer - 2/13/2007  5:05 AM    oh lets see, i have tried that about 30 times, never suceeded and the last time i tried, i tried for 4 days. I am not the only one who have problems with this aparently.
It woudl be a good idea if it was working properly. In my case though it never has even by following the instruction to the letter.
You're aware that it has to be saved twice, yes?  This took me all of about three minutes:
Initially, it asks that you confirm that you want the edit to take place by pressing BACK and then saving a second time.  That may have proven a stumbling block.  I can't see it taking more than a day or so (RL) to copy all of the readable texts currently residing in the Great Library, if you've got the money to burn on parchments.
@Dorg - I understand that magical photocopiers and the invention of the printing press will not occur in Layo.  But why is it that scribing parchments cannot be crafted?  Was it just as an addendum, or is it intended as a money sink?

yes i'm aware of that i followed th instruction, every time i tried that I was getting an error of invalid parchement folder.
@ dorg, aye we know that the printing system is not in existance, but one of the possibilities could be in having npcs that are titled, Temple Master Scriber *put a name*  that you could talk to him, pay him for his service with the choice of the book you would want, and him and his team scribing a copy of that book for you?

Let me state up front that absolutely every item in-game can be crafted. It's mostly a matter of a) does it make sense (which encompases things like balance, do we want it, etc.), b) figuring out the recipe and c) getting that recipe set up in the appropriate spot. Recently, I finished a tool to let C happen much more easily than before, which of course opens to door to doing things like that. Prior, it was just cumbersome.
In addition, I believe that this is the first time anyone has asked for scribing parchments to be made craftable, but I may be wrong. They were an addendum as part of this overall system, and I don't think any thought was ever given to making them craftable. As far as I know, there are no arguments against it, but perhaps there are some of which I am not aware.

 Possibly. It's something to consider.
