need help on this one team :)

Well here I was on the ratman quest with my 1st level pally getting help from Ryan Stone, we were on the first level when someone comes blasting past us. I stopped to try and talk but he just kept running ahead. So Ryan and I followed we got to the first door down I waited to say something there but he already went down. We followed again, then it turned into a race (i am sad to say). he got to the last room before us and made the kill, we entered and fought the rest os the rats. Ryan took the book off the ratman and this person asked for it back, as he should have. Now ryans player is quite young and he went OCC at this time. I talked with him later about it. Ryan said I am helping a 1st level out. At this the person got very pissed and acted that way. I said just give him the book. Then I had a long tell session with him (witch_hunter_newt). As it turned out he was doing the quest for a new player that was waiting outside the sewers. He admitted to running by us on the first level but felt that since he got to the last room first he was in the right. I tried to tell him about kill stealing and that it was not allowed to just do a quest for someone else without them being there at all. He was angry and would not listen. He said go ahead and post about this. he said "The guy you were with went OCC, I got to the ratman first, and I was helping a new player". So here it is folks. Witch_hunter_newt has been around long enough that he should know these things, where are we failing?

I think the original failing was when Witch Hunter (allegedly) agreed to get the books for the newer character. That's muling.

But also, the fact that he just (also allegedly) charged in and killed it, not talking to you lads until after... There's another.

When incidents like this happen, please make a request on the DM channel for help, contact a Dm on IRC or contact a DM in game with their character as a last resort.

If you truely have a grievence then make screen shots of the conversations and I reccommend everyone edit their player.ini to enable chat logging and download and install the gnomish log rotator.  Without this kind of information or a impartial third party observer this becomes a case of "he said".

I agree. I dont run the log rotator because this kind of thing never happens to me. But I will do it from now on. I should have asked for a GM to step in.

I'd like to give my side of the story before you rush and judge me thank you.

1) I did take her down the day before, all the way to the rat person and Omer was witness to that as he went with us half way to help another player.
The reason i did not take her the second time was simply because we've been down there once and she has enough troubles controling NWN as it is (she bought it 2 days ago to be honest)

2) You did not offer me to join forces at all when we met the first level, sorry but I even recall how funny it was because your partner empathied a rat and ran away which amused me - but as for interaction all you did was "Hello" and ran away, if you really missed me it was due to lag rather than me being sealed

3) There was TONS of OOC on your and your partners behaf which is one of the reasons I did not accept the offer to join forces (AFTER the rat died that is) things like "hes level one" and "im level eight" annoy me, yes.

4) I did not "rush pass you", i was gathering rats for a Whirlwind attack which you saw me use a few times already - just because you charged the rats chasing me doesnt make you right and me wrong or me avoiding them

5) You were first on the first layer, but I made it to the second layer first (and there were 2 other parties in the sewers beside us, although none after the book

6) Instead of waiting for me to talk you two rushed in, took the book and offered me to join - when the right thing to do was to wait for my offer (which would come, i assure you and i've enough people to vouch for me as someone that helps)

7) Infact, I did offer you to submit the book with her - 6 times, you ignored them all and kept arguing via tells. - why did you fail to mention that?



There, that's my case, and I believe I acted fairly right especially since I offered him to hand in the book with her - but he instead refused and argued.

well as minerva said this will just become he said he said. So lets just look at two things that you stated. One there was a party in the sewers first and two you were doing a quest for someone that was not with you.

*sigh* Again, she already went down there and I've people to prove it but she did not get the records.
But I won't deny I went down there a second time so she can get them - I'd do it yesterday after we failed to rescue them due to lack of spawn but sadly it was bed time for both of us.


also just so there wont be any mistakes - the new player is not MY player, it is a person and her fourm name is Wooble.

Sorry, but this type of dialogue really accomplished nothing on the forms except frustration.  I'm locking this.  If you want to meet in game to discuss this with a GM present then contact me or another GM to set something up.
