Wayfare to Wolfswood
« on: March 31, 2007, 04:02:22 AM »
Rumour persists around the Inns and markets of Fort Wayfare concerning the activities of the recently formed 16th Patrol of Skirmishers at Fort Wayfare.

It would seem the the local authorities had managed to obtain the services of one Captain Devon of the Wolfswood Rangers to help establish this new patrol as a premier patrol. The patrol was led on an expected simple first expedition down into the northern rim of the Wolfswood to track and return some stray giants before they caught up with some passing nomads of the III, that they were pursuing. Unfortunately Devon led this patrol into what seemed like an assembled army. Captain Devon with elements of the 16th and the nomads fell to this onslaught. Reports of a heroic attempt to fight through to the battlefield by the remainder of the patrol persist though the Patrol has currently been disbanded until further recruiting is undertaken.

Gilbert's guide to the World has rated the Wolfswood northern rim as unsafe.

It seems there was a further gathering at Wolfswood, this time a half Orc of Port Hempstead, and called Orcstrong, fell foul of the authorities and fled to the Ire Mountains where he gathered some Orcs before fleeing that little war to head for another in Wolfswood. However a large group of Bounty Hunters mustered at Hempstead and set off in pursuit. Theyy put paid to a band of Orcs before cornering Orcstrong and returning him to the authorities.

Whether these Orcs have any connection with Giants on the move along the Northern Rim is not clear.

Gilbert's Guide to the world has now classified the Northern Rim of Wolfswood as downright dangerous.

The Wolfswood Rangers have appointed 2nd Lt Rodlin as Investigaor into these recent events. He is being assisted by a new recruit Dorena. The Corps reported that matters are progressing but travellers are advised to exercise extreme caution in the area menatime. anyone with information should contact the Investigation Team or their nearest Ranger.
